NORTH Wilts Ladies march on into the new year still running in this season’s Yetton Trophy (women’s national inter-club championship).

Winners of the national competition six years ago the Westcroft -based Chippenham side followed up victories over Thornbury and Clarrie Dunbar with a comprehensive 41 shots third round success over Bristol last Saturday taking the honours on three of the four rinks.

North Wilts made all the running with a powerful start to lead across the board 29-10 at five ends and 58-26 at ten. Then they pulled well clear moving 75-40 up at 15 ends and finally won 99-58.

NORTH Wilts Ladies failed to complete a double last week with a victory in another national inter-club knockout team competition.

But they came off the rails in the second-half of the match, particularly at home where they led 17-7 after ten ends, to only score another ten shots overall but conceded 26 to disappointingly lose the match 39-37.
