Swindon Town v Chesterfield

You don’t need reminding that the last time Swindon squared up to the Spireites was the JPT final in 2011/12. I think we all know what happened that day.

This may sound like de ja vue, Chesterfield’s fall and rise mirrors that of Rochdale. When Swindon were relegated from League One in 2010/11, Chesterfield gained promotion as Champions of League Two. When we won the League Two title in 2011/12, The Spireites were relegated from League One. Chesterfield then gained promotion to League One as Champions again of League Two last season.

Former Town player Gary Roberts will not be making an appearance due to a hamstring injury, but we will probably be up against the League’s current top goal scorer Eoin Doyle, who currently has 14 league goals to his name. Although we do have a pretty good marksman ourselves in Michael Smith.

I don’t expect us to keep a clean sheet, but we must pick up the win to stop the slide, as November is going to be a tough month for the lads.
