TOWN’S impressive nine game unbeaten league run came to an end this week, but there’s no need to hit the panic button just yet.

Going forward we looked superb, keeping hold of the ball, managing to pick out a pass with ease, and looking dangerous inside the box.

Once again, the best player on the pitch was Nathan Byrne. He’s starting to prove that his dramatic change in form isn’t just a fleeting moment in his career.

One player that stood out for me on Tuesday was Jake Reeves. The former Brentford midfielder joined Town on a short-term deal, but after his impressive start at the County Ground, his current contract should be extended in the near future.

When he was introduced from the bench, he made an instant impact and helped Town get back on level terms.

I’m surprised the Bees released him from his contract, but their loss has very much become Town’s gain.

Last season’s forgotten man Andy Williams also played a huge role.

He’s been unlucky in recent weeks not to be starting more games, but the manager’s hands have been tied with the form of both Michael Smith and Jonathan Obika.

This season’s success at Town has been built on exciting football going forward and three solid defenders at the back. But, on Tuesday, a huge chunk of that dynamic went missing.

Jordan Turnbull and Jack Stephens not only made themselves look like average players, but made the suspended Nathan Thompson look like a better player without even gracing the field.
