EVENTERS Laura Collett and Tom McEwen both put in impressive performances to earn podium placings at the eventing FEI World Championships for Young Horses, in the seven year old class at Le Lion d’Angers, France.
Riding Toledo de Kerser, owned by Frank and Jane Inns, Badgerstown-based McEwen secured second place after an impressive display in the dressage competition saw the combination post a score of 43.70 penalties – a score they finished on, having posted a clear round in both the cross-country and showjumping phases.
Recently returned from the Eventing FEI Nations Cup stage out in Boekelo, Collett, who is based at Lambourn, with Clive Smith’s Pamero 4 showed their skills as they posted a 46.20 penalty dressage score.
Lying in 11th place going in to the cross-country, the combination rose up through the rankings after a clear cross-country and showjumping round, to finish on their dressage score for third.
