Swindon Town fans give their take on a hugely encouraging afternoon at the County Ground

(In the) first half excellent, we went 1-0 up and we outplayed Sheffield United. Coming out in the second half and I thought United would put a lot of pressure on us and they didn’t.

We scored two and three and I thought it would be a walk in the park and we’d just enjoy ourselves.

When they got a goal back I thought ‘no problem,’ we can live with that, (but) they got a second and I thought ‘hang on a minute, this is getting scary.’ They attacked again and again and I actually thought ‘we’re going to lose this’.

We calmed down a bit and got another goal that took the pressure off us and knocked the wind out of their sails a little bit.

It was an excellent result. We shouldn’t have been that bit complacent when we were 3-0 up, but when you’re three up you’re going to enjoy it aren’t you?

Without a shadow of a doubt that was one of the best performances since Mark Cooper took over as manager, a good all-round team performance. Even more so after Tuesday’s game.

Louis Thompson’s goal was awesome, his performance compared to Tuesday’s was something else. His assist for Michael Smith’s first goal was just awesome.

Patrick Braberson

I thought that was probably our best performance this season. A little a bit sloppy in defence but really good going forward.

I must admit I was a bit nervous when Sheffield United got those goals back but it shows resolve that they were able to come through that.

I thought Massimo Luongo played well and Michael Smith did well up front – he was my man of the match.

I think Smith is answering a bit of that stick he’s got and paid a bit of that back. It was a good performance, 5-3 you can’t ask for much more than that. Sheffield United are a good club as well, so I’d like to see that every week.
