SWINDON boss Alun Rossiter is itching to get started with the Elite League play-offs, with his team in good form.

The Robins experienced a frustrating start to the campaign, but they have been in spectacular nick over the closing weeks of the season to cement a top four place.

With Poole, King's Lynn and Coventry all suffering with injury problems, the Abbey Stadium outfit are arguably the form side as the quartet prepare to battle for the title.

Rossiter knows his side will face a stern test as they go in search of glory at the end of a rollercoaster campaign.

However, an excited Rossiter is optimistic about their chances having seen them hit top form in recent weeks.

He said: "Obviously the play-offs are nearly here now, and we can't wait to get going.

"The last few years we've tended to hit the ground running but then we've fizzled out towards the end of the season.

"It took us a while to get going this year, but everything seems to have clicked and we have timed our run well.

"We can never be over-confident because we know teams raise their games when it comes to the play-offs, so it's going to be tough.

"But the way we are riding we have to have the self-belief that we can go all the way, so we are looking forward to it."
