Marlborough brought the curtain down on their Wiltshire Division campaign by battling their way to the derby spoils against Great Bedwyn.

Tom Norris’ side notched up a 25-run victory in Savernake Forest to round off a fourth-placed finish in the table.

Batting first after winning the toss, Marlborough scored 214-6 thanks mainly to a solid knock of 78 by the ever-improving James Richardson, who received vital support support from Tom Palmer (44) and Will Langton (40 not out).

In reply, Bedwyn skipper John Palmer (40) and Richard Bosson (39) put on 76 for the first wicket but the Marlborough bowlers began to turn the screw, with George Fox ending the afternoon with figures of 4-38.

The visitors’ Ashley Perry added 32 but Palmer’s men were eventually skittled for 189 in the penultimate over, with Ben Head also claiming three wickets.

“It's been a decent season considering we lost our overseas player early but it could have been better had we beaten the three teams we would normally expect to win against,” said Norris.

“The youngsters are coming on nicely, so the future looks good for Marlborough cricket club.”

Elsewhere, champions Burbage & Easton Royal toasted the title by thrashing Calne by eight wickets.

Tom Wallbridge’s league winners put Dan Knight’s side in to bat first, with Julain Kearney (36) top-scoring for the hosts as Darran Freegard took 4-31.

Adam Lavis also claimed 3-31 as Calne were skittled for 151 midway through the 36th over.

David Cope (54) then led Burbage’s run chase, with Michael Papps (40) and Sourish Muhkerjee (35) also chipping in to see the visitors to 152-2 early in the 33rd over.

Third-placed Marshfield ended their season with a crushing 108-run triumph at Winsley, thanks in no small part to James Williams unbeaten century.

He hit 109 while William Pascall whacked 80 as the visitors posted 288-8.

Tom Clist (3-24) then led the bowling attack as Winsley struggled to get their run chase off the ground before being dismissed for 180 in the 32nd over.

Devizes had a final day to savour as they hammered relegated Nationwide House by ten wickets.

Dominic O’Neill made 32 for the Swindon-based side but the remainder of the Nationwide order were taken care of in little more than 32 overs for just 83, with Devizes’ Tim Saye (4-17) and Ben McGowan (4-25) doing the damage.

Tom Grant (50 not out) and captain Joe Wookey (23) then saw the hosts to 88 in just over ten overs.
