ADAM Harding is hoping that focusing his attentions to Swindon Wildcats this season will help him bag a hatful of points in the EPL.

The young forward committed his future to the Link Centre side over the summer on dual registration with Elite League giants Cardiff Devils.

But the 21-year-old has said that he wants to give his all to the Swindon cause this term, which will begin tomorrow night as Wildcats host Milton Keynes Lightning in a challenge match (face-off 7.45pm).

“Last year I was in between both, this year my main focus is with Swindon,” Harding told the Advertiser.

“If I’m playing regularly I hope that I can put up a lot of points.

“Last year I only had 18 and I was disappointed with that, I’m hoping this year to put up a lot more, that is why Swindon is my main focus.

“It was hard last year, I got pulled out by Cardiff when their coach left, (that) put me in a bad spot here in Swindon because every time I can back I wasn’t in a regular line.

“I was on the bench for quite a while and that is why I want to stay in Swindon so I’m not sat on bench.”

Having played some of his junior hockey here in Swindon, the former Great Britain under 20s international feels that he is settled at the Link Centre.

With head coach Ryan Aldridge keeping the majority of last season’s squad together, Harding is looking for to the campaign ahead.

“We have had six months off and you are eager to get back on the ice,” he said.

“I have been fortunate to get on the ice in Cardiff, I’m raring to go.

“I’m pretty sure most of the guys have been training over the summer - this is the exciting part now.

“I’m settled here, I played here as a kid, it is my second year so I am going to be more comfortable, we have got almost the same team as last year, a couple of new guys.

“I think the team has got better, we have improved in every spot we could have, Aldy has brought back the guys he needed to bring back, I’m hoping that the team is he put together will go well.”
