WILTSHIRE men’s Four Rink League play-offs begin this weekend.

In Area B the annual battle for the top two places between Chippenham Town, Wootton Bassett and Westlecot has seen Chippenham miss out this year.

Wootton Bassett on 190 points topped the group with Westlecot second on 175 while Chippenham Town scored 164 points.

Area C has seen Holt cruise to top spot on 195 points but there was a big battle for second place between Winsley, Avon and Trowbridge Westbourne with Spencer Moulton struggling for players this season.

Winsley clinched second spot albeit on shots difference over Avon after both finished on 128 points while Trowbridge Westbourne were fourth on 121 and Spencer Moulton fifth with 111.

In Area A Highworth topped the section on 230 points with Swindon West End second on 199, while in the south of the county the usual two sides Amesbury and Alderbury qualified, the former on 124 points while Alderbury totalled 107.

Quarter-finals (Sunday, Aug 24 at 10am): Highworth v Westlecot (at Swindon West End), Wootton Bassett v Swindon West End (at Purton), Holt v Alderbury (at Box) - Holt receive walkover as Alderbury have withdrawn, Amesbury v Winsley (at Holt).
