10:28pm

That's it for tonight, but the teams will do battle again at Blunsdon on Thursday.

Until then, goodnight.

10:26pm

While it was Steve Worrall who led the way with 13+1, Dakota North also enjoyed a pleasing evening.

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald: New Robins' man Dakota North

DAKOTA NORTH

"I think the weather played a part with the track because they didn't do much to it as they thought it would rain, so it was hard to pass," he said.

"It's not a place the boys like going all that much but we didn't really make the starts, and if you do that you would be at the back.

"Eastbourne is Eastgbourne so we just need to concentrate and ride at home like we know we can."

10:22pm

Eastbourne skipper Cam Woodward was pleased with his side's win, on what he always anticipated would be a tricky night.

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald: Britush grasstrack champion Cameron Woodward (left of picture) would to be Sussex speedway champ too

CAMERON WOODWARD

"It's good for us because so many of us were able to contribute, which was great," he said.

"We always thought Swindon would be hard and I was pretty worried about it to be honest, because they have some riders who can be dangerous around here.

"But we got the win, which was vitally important and we move on to Thursday night now."

10:20pm

Sorry for the delay, been driving around Sussex looking for some internet reception.

Some reaction from Robins' boss Alun Rossiter now.

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald: Alun Rossiter looking pensive at Monday''s meet in Birmingham

ALUN ROSSITER

“Steve was absolutely outstanding and Dak rode very well, but we carried a few too many passengers," he said.

“There was barely a passing move all night and we just weren’t quite quick enough from the gate on a lot of occasions.

“We’re involved in a four-team fight for the last two places in the play-offs and we certainly need to up our game, starting by taking all three points against Eastbourne on Thursday.”

9:18pm

FINAL SCORE: Eastbourne 53 Swindon 40

9:17pm

Heat 15: Pedersen, Noirth, Kylmakorpi, Batchelor; 58.2 4-2 - (53-40)

Pedersen wins by half a straight.

9:12pm

Pedersen, Kylmakorpi, Batchelor, North for heat 15. Eastbourne off one and three.

9:09pm

That's all the points secure for Eastbourne.

9:09pm

Heat 14: Worrall, Kylmakorpi, Halsey, Morris; 59.5 – 3-3 (49-38)

Great ride from Worrall wins it, but a 4-2 goes begging as Morris’s front wheel hits the curb in the final corner, and he falls to lose third place to Halsey.

9:03pm

Heat 13: Michelsen, Pedersen, Watt, Batchelor R: 59.1 – 5-1 (46-35)

Watt slips while second, gifting the hosts a maximum as Batchelor retires.

9:01pm

We're still going out for heat 13 after the shower passed

9:00pm

Here comes the rain

8:58pm

Heat 12: Worrall, Lahti, North, Ellis; 58.9 – 2-4 (41-34)

Worrall takes a decent scalp with a tough first corner win over Lahti.

8:56pm

Worrall in for Greaves.

8:54pm

Heat 11: Woodward, Watt, Michelsen, Morris FX; 58.6 – 4-2 (39-30)

After Morris is excluded for coming off under a little pressure, Watt charges through Michelsen but can’t catch Woodward.

8:51pm

Watt made the start and was clear at the front of that race. He'll need to do it again.

8:50pm

Morris hits a rut and goes over his handlebars it seems. He's excluded but up after a bit of treatment.

8:46pm

Back after the interval. Watt and Morris v Woodward and Michelsen in this one.

8:37pm

Terrible choice of guest for PK - Lots have said it before, why oh why would Watt help the Robins defeat a play off contender who the Hammers would fancy beating in the play offs themselves ? Yes I know points make £'s but am sure the hammers would ensure Mr Watt is not out of pocket tonight.

8:34pm

Heat 10: Batchelor (tac), Pedersen, Lahti, Gustafsson; 58.0 – 6-3 (35-28)

Batchelor wins from the tapes but Gustafsson can’t back him up.

8:29pm

Red lights on before the start, with Gustafsson wearing the wrong helmet colour.

8:27pm

Batch going in black and white. Gustafsson his partner

8:26pm

Heat nine: Worrall, Ellis, Greaves, Halsey; 59.6 - 2-4 (32-22)

Superb start from Worrall wins it again, with Greaves taking advantage of Halsey locking up in turn one to take third.

8:22pm

Heat eight: Kylmakorpi, Woodward, North, Gustafsson; 58.1 – 5-1 (30-18)

Gate and go and the Eagles lead by 12.

8:19pm

Heat seven: Lahti, Morris, Worrall, Halsey; 59.2 – 3-3 (25-17)

Great ride from Worrall to pass Halsey for third on lap two.

8:15pm

8:15pm

Still too rides to sort himself out, but not great so far.

8:12pm

Out for tractors #3

8:11pm

Heat six: Kylmakorpi, Batchelor, Woodward, Watt; 57.8 – 4-2 (22-14)

Kylmakorpi gets the better of Batchelor in their turn one tussle and takes the win. Watt nowhere.

Poor choice of guest. Robins will be lucky to make it to 38.

8:05pm

Red lights on as Woodward slips off. All four back

8:02pm

Heat five: Michelsen, Pedersen, Gustafsson, Morris; 57.7 – 5-1 (18-12)

The Robins duo have no answer to the Eastbourne Danes from the gate.

7:57pm

Whenever Dugard comes out on his tractor (round two now going on) my internet drops out.

7:57pm

Heat four: Kylmakorpi, North, Ellis, Greaves; 58.4 – 4-2 (13-11)

Kylmakorpi gates and is gone, with Greaves briefly holding third before being passed on lap one.

7:53pm

Great ride from the Swede. He scored 15 last time he was here with the Robins.

7:51pm

Heat three: Gustafsson, Woodward, Batchelor Michelsen; 57.9 – 2-4 (9-9)

Rocket of a start for Gustafsson wins him the race, with Batchelor just able to keep the bike down on first back straight to take third.

7:50pm

Round one of the world tractor racing series has been and gone.

7:45pm

Heat two: Worrall, Ellis, Halsey, Greaves; 58.8 – 3-3 (7-5)

It’s third time lucky for Worrall as, after making the gate at the first two attempts of running the race, he wins from the start.

7:43pm

The second restart is because Nathan Greaves had his front wheel resting against the tapes as they went up

7:41pm

Another unsatisfactory start. Not sure why. Worrall made the gate again.

7:39pm

Halsey hits the deck after trying to sneak up the inside of Worrall exiting turn two, but in my opinion is a little lucky to be invited back.

7:36pm

Heat one: Pedersen, North, Lahti, Watt; 58.2 – 4-2 (4-2)

Pedersen makes the gate and wins. Watt pushes Lahti for three laps but no way through.

7:33pm

7:33pm

7:31pm

No parade today, we're going straight into heat one it seems

7:31pm

7:30pm

7:30pm

Internet is worse than usual at Arlington so you might have to be patient for heat updates.

7:29pm

Cam Woodward wins the toss and takes the choice in heat 15. Troy takes one and three in the opener.

7:28pm

The Robins were almost without a team manager for the start of tonight's meeting, with Alun Rossiter stick in awful traffic on the M25. Here's here now though.

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald: Alun Rossiter

7:25pm

For the hosts, Adam Ellis is in for Lewis Blackbird who sadly broke his leg while riding in Denmark last Wednesday.

7:23pm

Watt is a former Eastbourne rider so should be a decent replacement.

7:21pm

Each team is without a rider due to injury this evening, with Davey Watt replacing Peter Kildemand after the Dane crashed in Poland yesterday. He's sitting things out this week.

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald: Davey Watt

DAVEY WATT

7:19pm

It looks like it's been a wet day in Sussex but as I arrived, Bob Dugard was watering the track with a hose so it can't be that bad.

Perfect for tractor racing

7:16pm

The rain has passed and we're ready for some speedway

I posted this earlier today - I rest my case!! "Why aren't we using Jason Doyle as a stand in for Kildemand tonight and Thursday?? Surely Davy Watt from potential play-off rivals Lakeside cannot be a good choice. I cant imagine he will be busting a gut to secure a Swindon win. At least Doyle is a Swindon asset and will not have a conflict of interest as he rides for Leicester! I trust Rosco has thought this one through?? Maybe he wasn't available but would like to think he had been asked!"

I wonder what masterstroke Rosco will pull for Thursday night - Peter Karlsson, Bomber, Craig Cook, Danny King? Please let it be Jason Doyle, who I really hope is in the team plans for next season.

Do you really think Doyle will want to bail the Robins out by riding for us on Thursday - after the way he was left out of our team plans at the beginning of the season, I don't think he owes Rossiter any favours !

Who would we beat over two legs should we reach the play offs. I know we have no PK but this is has become a pretty standard away performance. Is this another one that Rosco will want to "park". Mikeinwanborough now you you've told him there's no surprise, did you forget Lewis Bridger?

Just not good enough again. Poor returns from Batch, Morris and Gustafsson and Watt may as well have stayed at home. Even if we make the play offs, I can't see us going to Poole, Kings Lynn or Lakeside/Eastbourne/
Coventry and getting enough points to get through a two-legged semi-final.

Let us wait and see what excuses come out in the wash this time - everyone keeps on about Jason Doyle being left out of the team at the start of the season - but do we really know why he was not included in the team ?
Have to agree that Rosco's guest choice is somewhat bazaar
