WILTSHIRE ground out a battling draw on the final day of their Unicorns Championship Western Division clash against nearest rivals Devon at Devizes today

Set an unlikely 329 to win after Devon had declared their second innings, the home side reached 241-4 before the draw was agreed at the 72-over mark.

Wiltshire had started day three of the match still in with an outside chance of clinching a fourth successive Championship victory with Devon at 140-7.

But the visitors' tail wagged, with Ben Green hitting 37, assisted by Trevor Anning (16) and Charlie Miles (24) to get them up to 222-9 before they declared shortly before lunch.

Wiltshire's Tahir Afridi ended with 4-58 and Jake Roberts 3-58.

The target of 329 looked a tall order, but Wiltshire set about their task as opener Jayden Levitt shared stands of 36 with Henry Langford (12), 61 with Uzi Qureshi (27) a 50 with Ed Young (31) to take them up to near the 100 mark.

Levitt eventually went for 71 and Wiltshire set about earning the draw as Neil Clark (56 not out) and Ashur Morrison (31 not out) saw out time and help the hosts maintain their unbeaten championship record and leadership of the division.
