LOUIS Thompson has stressed that his “heart is with Swindon” amid speculation regarding his future at the County Ground.

Both the midfielder and his brother Nathan are being monitored by a host of clubs in the Championship and League One, but Louis is not going to let the reports get to his head.

While conceding that being linked to clubs such as Leeds United and Wolves acts as an ego massage, the younger Thompson sibling is insistent that he Nathan are both fully focused on the task at hand at Swindon Town.

“You just laugh it off. If you don’t get told anything you don’t believe it anyway. I don’t get myself involved in that stuff. It rubs your ego if you’re linked with anything but that’s all it does. You’ve got to be careful not to read too much into it and keep your feet firmly on the ground,” he told the Advertiser.

“It can soon go to your head before you know it. I think, for me, and I speak on behalf of my brother as well, we wash that stuff straight under the carpet as soon as it comes out and performances need to be up there where they were last year, if not better.

“At the moment it’s just about performing for the team and getting wins.

“From the age of six you’re being linked with all sorts of moves everywhere.

“You’ve got to keep your head in the game, we’re contracted to Swindon for now and for the future and, for me personally, my heart is with Swindon so I’ll keep performing for them and keep doing the best I can for them.”
