Wessex Division Two
Pucklechurch 1 Devizes 2nds 3
A SOLID team performance saw Devizes dictating the play against pomotion chasers Pucklechurch.
Devizes' solid defensive work, combined with a midfield and attack who were linking well, denied Pucklechurch any pathway to goal in the first half.
And an Annabel Nash pass found Anita Dolman sitting on the right post to give them a deserved goal midway in the half.
Pucklechurch began the second half with a spirited attack but were unable to penetrate Devizes' defensive wall. With Jo Wells controlling play in the midfield it was not long before Devizes' second goal came.
Captain Victoria Paget attacked the Pucklechurch D setting up a perfectly timed pass for Sophie Wright to strike home.
Despite Pucklechurch scoring soon afterwards Devizes' superior team play soon saw them dominating the game again, with Alice Murray-Gaurey finishing off with a third goal to seal a well-deserved 3-1 win.
