WILTSHIRE teenager Pete Kibble claimed victory in his last appearance as a youth rider at the Welsh Open Criterium Championships.
The 16-year-old from the hamlet of New Zealand, near Calne, competed in the event at Abergavenny for the fourth year in a row, having finished on the podium in his previous attempts without having won.
With Abergavenny also hosting the British Senior National Time Trial and Road Race Championships, Kibble competed in front of large crowds and launched a timely attack, maintaining a solo break for half the race to win by a significant margin.
Kibble now heads to the British Youth Road Race Championships in London.
