THE third annual Wiltshire School Games was taking place at Marlborough College today.

Organised by Wiltshire and Swindon Sport, along with the School Games organisers, the event was involving 500 pupils from 36 primary schools and 1200 students from 29 secondary schools.

Previously, 74 schools have participated in the Winter Games Level 3 competitions, while this year's summer Games have involved 1300 pupils from across the county participating in seven sports including badminton, hockey, football and basketball.

Among those attending today's Games were Devizes Judo ace Tom Reed, who will represent England at this month's Commonwealth Games and David Hemery CBE, the winner of the 400m hurdles at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, along with other guests.
