Cooper confirms Belford loan plan

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald: Tyrell Belford Tyrell Belford

SWINDON Town boss Mark Cooper has confirmed the club is planning to loan out keeper Tyrell Belford next season.

The Advertiser revealed on Thursday how the Robins have offered second-choice stopper Belford to all clubs in League One, League Two and the Skrill Premier.

Now, speaking to FLIC Wiltshire, Cooper has confirmed the plan.

"With Wes (Foderingham) being the number one and the way he played last season, we need to get 'Ty' some more experience, he had a taste of it last season but we need to get him some more game time in somebody's first team," he said.

"If somebody comes and wants him to be their first choice then we will consider it, but we need a replacement to be an understudy for Wes."

Cooper has also insisted Portsmouth are jumping the gun regarding a potential loan move for Miles Storey.

"I think they (Portsmouth) might be jumping the gun a little bit, because as far as I'm aware, there is nothing concrete or there is nothing imminent with Miles," he said.

"I think there was an interest and the two clubs spoke, but I don't think there is anything concrete or anything imminent that is going to happen.

"Miles was part of our fitness testing group today."

Totally agree and when we hear about the court case and what was going on behind the scenes, and match fixing accusations, Ranger episode then Cooper did fantastic and I feel he is going to be a top manager. After some of the dross we have had recently Malpas, MacDonald, Hart and co, Cooper is a breath of fresh air and we are lucky to still have him I feel.

Yeah there might be better managers out there, but how much money would they want for their wage??????

STFC don't have the money for players, yet alone a top manager.
So lets get a bit of perspective here, STFC can't afford it.
If you can't afford something do you buy it? no you don't, unless you want to rack up debt.

Mark Copper is doing a hard job, under very difficult circumstances.
But is getting some good results along the way.

How about just being grateful for what we do have and show a bit of appreciation.

I think that's where the plan falls apart Duke... also I read that David Moyes is in talks with Galatasaray, so that's one less application to consider amongst the throng of managers banging the door down to get the chance to manage here at STFC with all this going on, past and present ☺

His move to City at an early age was of his fathers making, wonder if they bought him a house as an incentive?

Once again another instant of the big clubs snaffling up youngsters and then letting them rot in the youth team and not making any notable progress. OK Ipswich is not a bad move, but I bet he won't be their first choice

In fairness to Alex he's signed permanently for Ipswich where he spent most of last season on loan.

Just an observation but how many youth players have Man City brought through to play in their first team since their current owners took charge?

I thought as the Adver hadn't reported anything nothing was happening and we were to be relegated playing 7 each week!

Seriously - Good to see the 2 main areas are being addressed early - the International defender would suggest Troy is moving on or Stephens is not coming back

Stephens is quality , would be great to see him back. I'm unsure as to whether the new guy is F/B or C/B so maybe still a chance for Stephens.

Changing the thread, Cooper has said on radio that we have a centre forward and an international defender both with unpronouncable names. Should be interesting especially with the match day broadcaster .
BBC have announced Jonathan Van Sompali (Tenerife) & Khalil Lambin (Sheffield Wednesday) will be on trial at Swindon Town during pre-season

Right that's it. I give up.
At least you've come round to other people's opinion by saying 'I DONT THINK Cooper is not a football manager'.

Any chance in loaning out are manager
No just get rid of him , we would be far better off without him . There are better managers out there .
You might just get your wish if Jed and his cronies win back control . Can't see cooper sticking around after his match fixing allegations ? Probably end up with the Hungerford Town manager replacing him though .

All it has been since there arrival is lies lies and more lies..
With any of these 2 in charge OUR club is heading in the wrong direction..

I am gonna go on the honest attack here. fed up being polite and sweet but holding back the truth about all you "commentators" so here is round one.
Question one.
Which commentator sits on the site at 10.00pm and red pens everybody else's comments and gives marks out of ten?
