Pompey still hopeful on Miles deal
10:42am Friday 27th June 2014 in Sport
PORTSMOUTH boss Andy Awford remains hopeful of completing a loan deal for Swindon striker Miles Storey.
The youngster was at Fratton Park on Tuesday for discussions over a season-long stay, as reported by the Advertiser earlier this week.
However, the move has not yet been finalised, with the ongoing court case involving current chairman Lee Power and former chief Jed McCrory thought to have played a significant part.
“We are still trying to reach an agreement with Swindon,” Awford told The News in Portsmouth.
“Miles is not allowed to train with us yet as he is still under contract at Swindon so he can’t.
“We are trying to discuss the situation with their people at the moment.
“Hopefully we can get it sorted and we can get Miles down here to play for us this season.’ Storey has made 35 appearances for the Robins since coming through the ranks at the Country Ground, with his brace against Aston Villa and the last-minute winner against Coventry the highlights of his career to date.
The 20-year-old also spent spells on loan at Shrewsbury and Salisbury last season.
