THE 2014 annual School Games Panathlon disability competition took place at Marlborough College last week.
Around 80 physically and mentally disabled children competed in multiple events, pupils coming from Uplands and Brimble Hill Schools in Swindon, St Nicholas and Rowdeford Schools in Chippenham and Larkrise in Trowbridge.
There were five main areas of competition, including the paralympic sport bocchia, as well as table cricket, new age kurling, polybat and indoor athletics, the latter including javelin, running and even a wheelchair slalom.
Paralympic swimmer Kate Grey made the presentations at the event, organised by London-based Panathon and Wiltshire and Swindon Sport, with help from lower sixth-form students from Marlborough College, who are studying the international Baccalaureate.
Swindon Green came first overall, followed by West Wiltshire, Mid Wiltshire and Swindon Yellow.
