LITTLE Cheverell-based international rider Lucinda Fredericks has been appointed as coach to the Hong Kong eventing team for September's Asian Games.

Australian international Fredericks, 48, will guide the Hong Kong team's riders at the Games, the largeat sporting event in Asia, in Incheon, South Korea, which take place from September 19-October 4.

Fredericks said “I have been out to Hong Kong twice over the last six months to teach clinics and I’m delighted to have Nicole Pearson and Thomas Ho on site with me at Rosegarth training.

"Thomas Ho hopes to qualify to join Nicole and Annie Ho on the team. I am really proud to be coaching the team and look forward to getting some great results."

Angela Kong, secretary general of the Hong Kong Equestrian Federation, said. “This is the second time Lucinda has taken on the role of coach to the Hong Kong Eventing team since the last Asian Games in Guangzhou.

"We are happy to work with Lucinda again and we look forward to getting good results for the team.”

Fredericks, who has competed at the last two Olympic Games, winning team silver in Beijing in 2008, lives at Little Cheverell with her daughter Ellie.
