He's to tired to play a full 90 minutes in a Swindon game, he's going to be absolutely knackered playing playing in the humidity at World Cup level.

I did'nt agree with all of PDC's methods, but we did have a very fit team whilst he was around
And what makes you suggest the team wasn't fit last season ? Still blinkered by the PDC bandwagon ? Have a peek at the clubs fitness programme on the Town player and you may understand the levels of fitness demanded and how technology is used to monitor levels, to ensure every player reaches their maximum potential. Over the course of a long season there are bound to be times for one reason or other the players form dips, outside levels of fitness.

Hope it's great news for the player soon on the selection front , it'll be good for the Town too. Even if the worst comes to the worst and other clubs come calling, selection will only enhance his value."

MASSIMO Luongo is still waiting to find out whether or not he will be part of the Australia squad for the World Cup.

The Swindon Town midfielder is out in Brazil with the Socceroos but, with 27 players vying for only 23 places in the final squad, four players are due to be cut.

With the majority of the nations competing in the tournament announcing their full squads yesterday, as the Advertiser went to press tonight no declaration had been made by the Australian federation.

Luongo was in action for his country yesterday in their 2-0 friendly victory over Brazilian club side Clube Varana, and will be hoping his display was enough to earn himself a place in the final squad.
