MASSIMO Luongo is still waiting to find out whether or not he will be part of the Australia squad for the World Cup.

The Swindon Town midfielder is out in Brazil with the Socceroos but, with 27 players vying for only 23 places in the final squad, four players are due to be cut.

With the majority of the nations competing in the tournament announcing their full squads yesterday, as the Advertiser went to press tonight no declaration had been made by the Australian federation.

Luongo was in action for his country yesterday in their 2-0 friendly victory over Brazilian club side Clube Varana, and will be hoping his display was enough to earn himself a place in the final squad.
