10:35pm

That's it for tonight I'm afraid as the weather wins again.

Next up for the Robins is Leicester at home on Thursday.

Night

10:26pm

The final word goes to Robins skipper Troy Batchelor, who believes the Robins still had a chance of winning.

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald: Troy Batchelor

TROY BATCHELOR

"On the one hand we were lucky because we get another chance but on another it's a shame because we now have another rain off.

"There were still more points in that meeting for us so perhaps it's a good thing.

"If the track was safe enough then we would have to ride, it was a decision between all three of us and it was still raining and the track was flooded."

10:22pm

Brummies skipper Danny King was naturally disappointed not to have been able to convert their lead into league points, but admitted the right call was made. He did, however, insist more could have been done to get back on the track quicker following the first break for rain, which would have meant progress enough for a result to stand.

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald:

DANNY KING

"We would have liked to have carried on because we were one heat away, but it probably was too dangerous by the end," he said.

"We fought hard to come out on top and it's disappointing.

"The way we're thinking is that there was a 20 minute break where we could have got a few more heats in but we'll just have to do it again."

10:16pm

First up it's Rosco who, despite plenty of accusations to the contrary on social media, insists he and his riders did nothing to force the meeting to be abandoned and ensure they have another crack at the points. (It was still raining when I left the track, so there was no way that meeting was getting finished)

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald: Robins' boss Alun Rossiter

ALUN ROSSITER

“We didn’t push for anything tonight and I’ve said before that I would never let what happened in the Coventry match happen again,” he said.

“When the heavens opened that was it, it was finished, nothing to do with me, riders or anything.

“We were still in the meeting, although obviously eight points down, and we had time to come back, but when you’re completely out of it things are maybe a bit different. We’d have had to send riders out in one heat to try and get a result and that would have been dangerous."

10:14pm

Some reaction on it's way from Rosco, Batchelor and Brummies skipper Danny King.

MEETING ABANDONED AFTER HEAT NINE. RESULT DOES NOT STAND

8:49pm

Officials 'giving it a few minutes for the rain to clear'.

8:47pm

YOUR SAY

8:45pm

The rain is battering down at Perry Barr. They can't ride in this.

8:43pm

Heat nine: Worrall, Starke, Lambert, Greaves; 62.97 – 3-3 (31-23)
Worrall gates to another reserve race victory.

8:41pm

The rain is really heavy now.

8:41pm

Robins can't afford to fall further behind after this reserve race in my opinion, regardless of the fact they would then be in tactical territory.

8:40pm

Heat eight: King, Morris, Gustafsson, Covatti; 61.07 – 3-3 (28-20)
King gates to victory number three.

8:36pm

Here we go then, riders at the tapes again.

8:34pm

I can see riders with helmets on. We're carrying on.

8:31pm

Finally we have some track staff out doing some work on the circuit.

8:27pm

Although I can see why they might want to cut their losses and go home.

8:27pm

Seems the Robins aren't happy with conditions. Surely not another rain off? Please no.

8:22pm

No sign of racing here. Riders out looking at the track.

8:19pm

Some black clouds circling over Perry Barr right now and some umbrellas are up.

8:17pm

Heat seven: Nermark, North, Lambert, Greaves; 62.6 (25-17)
North pushes Nermark all the way but, after he finally sees off Lambert, the Aussie can’t pass the Swede.

8:12pm

Heat six: King, Kildemand, Covatti, Batchelor R; 59.78 – 4-2 (21-15)
Batchelor suffers bike issues in turn one as King hogs the ‘Kildemand line’ to keep the Dane at bay.

8:10pm

YOUR SAY

8:09pm

Heat five: Zmarzlik, Barker, North, Morrs F; 58.97 – 5-1 (17-13)
Smarzlik gates and wins and, much to the home crowd’s delight, Morris hits a rut and falls in the final corner while second to gift a 5-1.

8:02pm

Heat four: Gustafsson, Covatti, Starke, Worrall; 59.20 – 3-3 (12-12)
Great gate and a tough first corner are enough for Gustafsson to win. Worrall was there in the first bend but missed out.

7:58pm

Heat three: King, Batchelor, Morris, Barker FX; 59.19 – 3-3 (9-9)
After Barker is excluded following a tough move by a lifting Nick Morris, King gates to victory in the re-run.

7:54pm

7:53pm

And it's Barker who is thrown out! That is a baffling decision.

7:51pm

Nick Morris takes out Ben Barker after picking up grip in heat three and the Robins man will surely be excluded.

7:48pm

Heat two: Worrall, Starke, Lambert, Greaves; 59.75 – 3-3 (6-6)
Worrall makes a great gate to lead while Greaves is chopped off on the first back straight but is well on the pace.

7:46pm

Time for the reserves race, which is always a big indicator. Nathan Greaves is on his own bike this time.

7:43pm

Heat one: Nermark, Kildemand, Gustafsson, Zmarzlik; 58.97 – 3-3 (3-3)
Kildemand completely misses the start and then can’t catch Nermark despite a dramatic run to the line.

7:41pm

Up at tapes, here we go!

7:41pm

Big prediction from former Robins Nicolai Klindt.

7:28pm

Swindon win the toss and take gates one and three.

7:28pm

Seems the Brummies are persisting in using 'The Cowboy' as Danny King's nickname. Where did that come from?

7:25pm

The riders are out on parade now as they ride round on their bikes to say hello to the sparse Perry Barr crowd.

Need all the boys firing tonight and surely the Brum are there for the taking. As long as Simon and Dak chip in feel we will be OK for at least 3 points but 4 would be nice mind you Steve Worrall has to keep their reserves quiet otherwise this is where they could muster plenty of points. Only issue is Brum tonight are possibly at their strongest all season and shame we never met them earlier. Good luck Robins.

7:24pm

The Robins are at full strength this evening, which is becoming a bit of a habit.

The Brummies hand a debut to the very highly rated Pole Bartosz Zmarzlik who goes straight in at number one. Big talent, but he's never seen this track before.

7:19pm

Right, on to the matter in hand in what remains a battle between two team at the bottom of the table with ambition to move up.

7:18pm

You can read all about Kildemand's call-up by clicking here, with more from the Robins' main Dane in tomorrow's Adver.

7:16pm

Before we get on with tonight's meeting, the big news from earlier today is Peter Kildemand's call-up to the Danish GP at Parken on June 28. Richly deserved.

Dry track I was expecting a defeat after watching first five heats Brum look far more up for it than us. Always wanted Doyle in our side and Batch has been a let down I feel.
