10:23pm

That's it for tonight but there's a full report and pictures in tomorrow's Adver.

Night.

10:23pm

Sorry for the delay, but some reaction here from boss Alun Rossiter.

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald: Alun Rossiter

ALUN ROSSITER

“The result was what we needed and I’m really pleased we’ve got it but it is a shame we didn’t get the match finished,” he said.

“The main thing is that everyone’s in one piece because all it would have taken was for someone to slip off and they would have got injured. The main thing was visibility, the track was fine.

“Belle Vue wanted to carry on because they thought they had a sniff of a point but half their team didn’t want to ride.

“At the end of the day we have to take that because we’ve struggled a bit and we’re more than happy to take the three points.

“All the riders contributed and we looked really good out there so there’s plenty of positives.”

8:57pm

A real shame that, but the Robins do get all three Elite League points this evening.

MEETING ABANDONED AFTER 12 HEATS

Robins win 42-33

8:52pm

Heat 12: Gustasfsson, R Worrall, S Worrall, Wright; 71.29 – 4-2 (42-33)
Great first bend from Gustafsson holds off Worrall. Easy from there.

8:47pm

Heat 11: Palm Toft, Morris, Zagar, Batch R; 69.50 – 2-4 (38-31)
Palm Toft goes around everyone in the first bend and, despite being run very wide by Morris on two occasions, he hold on to win.

YOUR SAY

8:42pm

Looks like we're carrying on after this interval. Plenty of water around but bikes out on the track.

8:33pm

Heat 10: Nicholls, Kildemand, Gustafsson, Cook; 68.96 – 3-3 (36-27)
Nicholls gates and the Robins number one can’t catch him.

8:28pm

Heat nine: S Worrall, Wright, Greaves, Johnson; 70.27 – 4-2 (33-24)
Great race between Worrall and Wright which the Robins man eventually wins. Great stuff.

8:22pm

Heat eight: Nicholls, Morris, North, R Worrall; 68.01 – 3-3 (29-22)
Nicholls gates and goes but Morris cuts back in turns one and two to take second. North and Worrall battle it out with the Aussie taking the point.

8:18pm

Heat seven: Gustafsson, Palm Toft, Wright, Worrall; 68.82 – 3-3 (26-19)
Wright in for Johnson, who missed the two minutes. Wright then storms away from the start but Gustafsson works his way through to win.

8:14pm

Brendan Johnson fails to make the two minutes and is excluded from heat seven. Charles Wright.

8:10pm

Heat six: Zagar (tac) Morris, North, Cook FX; awarded – 3-6 (23-16)

Cook goes flying as he chases Morris for second place, with tactical rider Zagar leading, and is excluded.

8:08pm

Matej Zagar is going in black and white.

8:04pm

YOUR SAY
Too right

8:03pm

Heat five: Batchelor, Kildemand, Nicholls, Palm Toft; 67.49 – 5-1 (20-10)
After Palm Toft is flagged for a jump start in the first staging, the Robins duo gate for a maximum.

7:58pm

Palm-Toft makes a flier and the red lights are on. All four back.

7:56pm

Heat four: Wright, R Worrall, North, Greaves; 68.16 – 1-5 (15-9)
After both Robins miss the start Greaves slips off in turn one but remounts. Without his partner, North covers every inch but can’t find a way past.

7:53pm

YOUR SAY

7:51pm

Heat three: Batchelor, Morris, Nicholls, Cook; 67.72 - 5-1 (14-4)
Two great gates from the Robins are aided by the two Aces getting in each other’s way.

7:47pm

Heat two: Greaves, Worrall, Wright, Johnson FX; 69.14 – 5-1 (9-3)
After Johnson is excluded after going down alone, Greaves rides superbly to win his first ever race at the Abbey. Great gate, used all the track and forced Wright into submission which allowed Worrall through too.

7:40pm

Red lights on going into lap three after Brendan Johnson hits the deck. Greaves gets his bike down but still hits the Aces guest.

Both riders get up but Johnson is excluded.

7:37pm

Heat one: Kildemand, Zagar, Gustafsson, R Worrall; 66.43 – 4-2 (4-2)
Zagar makes the best start but it’s Kildemand who leads coming out of turn two. Gustafsson is there with him briefly but the Aces number one eventually takes him.

7:33pm

Riders at the tapes for heat one.

7:31pm

7:31pm

That minute's silence was also for British Superbikes rider Simon Andrews, well known to Robins boss Alun Rossiter, who died in a track crash recently aged just 30.

I am in shock - more rain & gloomy sky's compared to last Thursday but no news that the meeting has been cancelled yet - sure example that SKY do have influence in these matters despite the constant denials ! Just hope there is some entertaining races for the paying public who brave it tonight.

7:24pm

We're really going to kick on with this meeting due to the wet weather which has been around today, but first we are having a minute's silence for Malcolm Simmons who died today.

Suggest Rosco's a bit of a hypocrite. He was bleating fowl play against Coventry earlier this season when conditions were far worse. Good win all the same.

Feel short changed - we could have finished the meeting, have to agree with Belle Vue here, track did not look no different to what it did in heat 10.
I agree we have to put the riders safety first, but only had three heats left. Was Rosco worried that Belle Vue would have pulled a point from us.
Thinking now that North needs to move South - not pulling his weight. Well done Simon. There was some good racing tonight.

Absolute Joke, x2 adults and x4 children, for 2 rained off meetings is cost excluding car parking, programmes and food. For 19 heats combined £100. Speedway is a farce and will it be here in a few years, very much doubt. So sad to see the sport I have loved “falling apart fast".

North leave you are joking been a great signing and top scored at Wolves with 10 a few weeks back, 8 at Kings Lynn and 3 paid 5 this evening and still had another ride that he could have won so why are you writing the guy off rather odd. Batch got just 3 at Wolves so should he go also ? Why are you not praising riders like Simon Gustafsson who has been excellent last two matches and talking about the sensational 16 year old first time on the track and wins his first heat against two very good draft riders. Its alright knocking riders as you and I have done recently especially Simon Guastafsson but credit where it is due he has been excellent last two matches do you agree ??

Di kanny - I have praised Simon on previous occasions if you care to read my comments. Still have to be convinced about North! - we just do not seem to have the drive/passion to go forward this year, can't see us making play offs.
