NATHANIEL Johnson, from Melksham, claimed a Wilts Angling Open double, winning the Thursday and Sunday events at Rood Ashton.

The first was won with 140 lb of carp, Ian Willetts, from Bradford, next with 97 lb of carp, followed by Terry Fell, from Devizes, with 48 lb.

On Sunday, 125 lb 5 oz of carp proved enough, with Jim Ryan, from Frome, next with 103 lb 5 oz, followed by Matt Skyrme, from Trowbridge, with 92 lb.

Other Thursday placings: 4. Tony Steel Trowbridge 33 lb; 5. Larry Willetts Bradford 30 lb; 6. Nigel Saunders Melksham 25 lb.

Other Sunday placings: 4. Paul Sims Frome 80 lb 8 oz; 5. Dave Bancroft Trowbridge 77 lb 6 oz; 6. Jim Butcher Bradford 76 lb 12 oz.

JIM Escott, from Melksham, won the Trowbridge Seniors match at Eden Vale with 35 lb of roach and skimmers.

Pete Craig, from Devizes, was next with 20 lb 8 oz of carp and skimmers, followed by Paul Brown, from Devizes, with 13 lb 12 oz of roach, skimmers and perch.

Other placings: 4. Ken Gingell Trowbridge 11 lb 0 oz; 5. Bernie Ryan Devizes 8 lb 4 oz; 6. Brian Ellis Melksham 8 lb 0 oz.

THE Monday Wilts Angling Open at Viaduct Fishery was won by Tony Gilbert, from Melksham, with 181 lb of carp, followed by Vic Bush, from Bradford, with 173 lb of carp.

Roland Lucas, from Frome, was third with 154 lb of carp.

Other placings: 4. Steve Martin Frome 144 lb; 5. Pete Neate Holt 138 lb; 6. Dave Bancroft Trowbridge 133 lb.
