SPEEDWAY LIVE: Swindon Robins v Birmingham Brummies
This live event has finished
- MEETING ABANDONED AFTER SEVEN HEATS DUE TO RAIN
- Swindon Robins 26 Birmingham Brummies 19 after heat six
- SWINDON: Peter Kildemand (3-2'), Dakota North (1-2), Nick Morris (2'-1'), Simon Gustafsson (2'-2), Troy Batchelor (3-3), Dan Greenwood (R-0), Steve Worrall (2-3).
- BIRMINGHAM: Ben Barker (2-FX), Kalle Katajisto (0-0), Danny King (0-1), Edward Kennett (0-6^), Adam Skornicki (1-3), Simon Lambert (1-1), Paul Starke (3-1).
Sadly the rain has got the better of us this evening.
A bit of a track inspection going on
Heat seven: Kennett (tac), North, Lambert, Greenwood; 72.17 – 2-7 (26-19)
Kennett goes in black and white and wins in the wet. The track is really greasy.
Another Brummies tacitcal sees Kennett go in black and white. Rosco would have been better off leaving Worrall in.
Reserve change with Greenwood in for Worrall.
Heat six: Skornicki, Gustafsson, Morris, Barker (exc); 69.99 – 3-3 (24-12)
After Barker is excluded for falling on his own, Skornicki makes an easy gate to win. Morris is close to falling off after going up on his back wheel but manages to keep it down.
Two minutes back on as Morris and Gustafsson go against just Adam Skornicki in the re-run.
Barker took a knock to his hip and is being looked at by the paramedic, which is why we have a bit of a delay.
Ben Barker being taken back to the pits in an ambulance.
Barker still down getting a bit of treatment,
Barker tries to storm around the outside and hits the deck. Nobody touched him and he's out. Oh dear.
Barker going in black and white
Very strong start from the Robins, showing they mean business.
Heat five: Batchelor, Kildemand, King, Kennett; 67.11 – 5-1 (21-9)
Two great gates see the Robins home again.
Heat four: Worrall, Gustafsson, Starke, Katajisto; 68.48 – 5-1 (16-8)
Great team riding from the Robins duo as they cruise to a 5-1.
Katajisto told to keep still at the start after moving too early.
Reserve change already, with Worrall in for Greenwood.
Heat three: Batchelor, Morris, Skornicki, King; 67.49 – 5-1 (11-7)
Morris lifts at the start but still is able to do really well to cut under both King and Skornicki to join his skipper for a 5-1.
Greenwood had mechanical problems there and was well adrift when he pulled off the track.
Heat two: Starke, Worrall, Lambert, Greenwood; 68.61 – 2-4 (6-6)
Worrall chases Starke all the way but can’t catch him. Greenwood pulls off the track on the second lap.
Heat one: Kildemand, Barker, North, Katijisto; 67.46 – 4-2 (4-2)
Kildemand, Barker and North all make really good starts but the Robins number one is able to swoop around the outside for the win.
Dak makes a bit of a jump and the red lights are on. Barker gets a warning to stay still.
Here we go then, heat number one is imminent.
We've had the parade and should be starting soon.
Steve Worrall is here!
#adverspeedway if lambert gets there in time then think it will be close 49-41— @mdmc82 05 May 2014

Darryl Ritchings is in the pits this evening as he returns to a speedway track for the first time since his horror crash last month which left him in a coma for a fortnight.
He's looking really well.
First things first, Steve Worrall isn't here yet but they are expecting him in the next few minutes.
Worrall was riding for Edinburgh at Scunthorpe this afternoon and faced a race against time to make it to his second meeting of the day.
Right, a few minutes later than first billed but we are off and running with Speedway Live.
THIS SERVICE WILL BEGIN AT 7.15PM
