Reserve Dan knows he has to find form
DAN Greenwood knows he can’t take his place in the Robins side for granted as he bids to find his form for Swindon Robins.
By his own admission, the youngster has found things tough since taking the place of injured rider Darryl Ritchings at reserve, and he’s yet to finish higher than third in any of his 19 heats for the club.
With two home meetings this week the youngster is keen to start turning things around, but knows he can’t afford to take too long as the Robins look to climb the Elite League table.
“It’s been a tough start for me to be honest but it’s all about finding the right set-up for Swindon,” he said.
“We’re getting there I think and now hopefully we can start scoring some points. We’ve got two home meetings this week and hopefully soon it will stop being an away track for me as I get more experience.
“It’s a new track and it’s very fast, meaning you need a good set-up. The track’s great so it’s just about getting used to it.
“I’m sure Rosco will give me a fair shout at it but I know I can’t take my place for granted.
“It’s all about development this year because it’s very tough. These teams want to win and they have to do what they have to do.
“I’m sure it will all come good for me, though.”
Greenwood, like the rest of the Robins riders, is keen to put a few smiles back on their faces as well as those of the club’s fans.
“The senior guys help out where they can but at the minute the senior boys seems to be struggling a little as well, so it’s hard.
“Rosco doesn’t like losing, nor do any of us, so a few wins can put a smile on our faces.
“We have to prove ourselves to keep our places so this is a big one for everyone.”
