NILE Ranger has handed himself in at Gablecross police station in Swindon in connection with a criminal damage and assault investigation.
The Swindon Town striker is also likely to learn his fate as an employee at the club later this evening, with a statement from the County Ground imminent.
A spokeswoman at Wiltshire Police said Ranger did not hide his attendance, as he walked across the car park at the station and through the front door just before 4pm.
He is believed to be awaiting questioning as he and officers wait for his legal representatives arrive.
The 23-year-old is likely to be held in the cells at the station overnight, as the investigation and connected interview are processed.
At this stage, he has neither been arrested nor charged with any offence.
Ranger was called in for questioning after CCTV footage emerged over the weekend, which shows a man punching a woman three times and kicking a door down at a property in Gordon Gardens.
