Every day! And I can't be the only one to find it boring and depressing to read. Smith did play poorly, but I'm not in the habit of writing players off before kick off like him. Never a good word to say, and sure my challenge from earlier won't be met - if Cooper's so clueless, and we go out and get a good result, come back on here and admit you were wrong. We rode our luck, Brentford should have got about six goals but ultimately we played with heart and got the result. Credit where it's due.

Get Jack Stephens and Nile Ranger signed on for next season and we will be a force to be reckoned with. Great win today and thoroughly enjoyable game, blood and guts game and some superb performances and dug deep at the end. Louis Thompson must be the most improved player of the season and seems to get better each game what a star in the making. Great save from Fods second half from a thunderbolt of a shot and overall a cracking game and at last a decent Ref who had an excellent game. Smith is still young and has plenty to learn obviously but works his socks off for the team. Yes his first touch is poor but he should get better as the years go by and certainly tries his best. Penalty was well struck but keeper guessed right so shame about that as at 2-0 we would have been a lot calmer as there were some panic attacks in defence at times. Henville was magnificent again but Jack Stephens boy this kid is pure class what a future he has in the game. Thought Jay was excellent today got stuck in when needed. 60 points really is fantastic and it looks rosy for next season if we can add that extra quality to the side. As I say Ranger and Stephens would be be very welcome.

Interesting how we all see things differently Wiz. Yes, Louis Thompson had a great game, full of running and passion, but I thought Nathan was yet again some way below his best. Fodders magnificent again. That shot he stopped in the second half was thunderous. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Stephens, the classiest player on the pitch by some distance. Luongo had his best game (that I've seen) for ages and McEveley gave us a bit more presence in midfield.

The screaming at the manager to get Smith off was embarrassing. How is that going to help? And what options did Cooper have on the bench anyway?Gladwin was probably slightly better when he came on but Storey certainly wasn't. I still no evidence to support the widespread faith in him.

Well done MC on yet another unlikely win against a better side. I'm sure the knives will still be out though.

Stephens has been fantastic, Henville did very well, Foderingham motm for me.

Have to disagree on one thing, I thought the ref was a bit mental today, yellows for nothing, for bad challenges and for really dangerous ones, didn't make sense to me, seemed he could have just called foul and not booked on some and the two that their player got which led to the sending off could each have been a straight red. Missed a fair few fouls on both sides as well, but still better than the one we had against Sheffield Utd he was dire.

Side note - unless we've got a rock hard pitch after a heat wave, not sure it needs to be watered before kick off, last few games I've seen players on both sides lose their footing in the areas that've been sprayed.

Absolutely agree Den, Storey's cameo was poor. Lots of manager's on here before the match, all wrong and one Bellend who wants a 3rd tier striker to be replaced by another 3rd tier striker whose touch is on a par, lacks height and aggression but has a bit of pace to run down blind alleys.

Smith was prepared to work very hard, gave their centre half lots to complain about and so nearly set-up a second for Byrne. Guess it is time for him to move on because many have already decided and are not prepared to look at his good parts.

Couldn't believe some texts sent to Radio Wilts, we won but Cooper should have...

Excellent battling performance today against a decent team, worked as a team and limited them to an extent that Wes only had to make one save (from a free kick that should not have been given).

Feel for Mark - Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Win 4-0 and some will still moan.

Really enjoyable, feisty affair today. Ref was shocking, so many bad decisions it's difficult to know where to start but I do wish we'd stop getting stupid bookings for dissent he's not going to change his mind and had many needless suspensions this season. There player should have gone for the first challenge and he must have lost the plot to do a similar tackle a few mins later. Our fans are ridiculous getting on Smith's back! He had a poor game yes but the abuse is not going to help is it? And around me every time he did something wrong everyone was up screaming abuse and yet when he played a delightful through ball to Nathan Byrne nothing! Wes magnificent again, and echo the comments on Stephens very classy, composed, accomplished footballer with pace would be a great season long loan if possible. Troy has to be worth offering a deal to he is a rock back there. Also some more should credit Cooper tactically today, very clever move with formation and having Branco and Jay on left side v shrewd as Donaldson ALWAYS pulls out there and has done us serious damage before doing that but today largely nullified. Jay was very good today and I don't agree with people who see him as a weak link I think he is a solid performer at this level and has been excellent in recent weeks. I thought Luongo struggled myself today and think he has perhaps run out of steam with amount of games he has played. Louis is looking better and better and really tenacious but also driving forward with ball more and more. Have to agree that when Storey on all he did was give ball away. Still overall a good performance and would not fault effort of any of the players, COYR!

No Malc, not at all. Dougie was part of the lazy barsteward team under Wilson that took us down, and then after pledging to help us bounce back did the Judas thing and went to Brentford. Macca well he stayed while the money was here with Black, but took a higher offer as he himself admitted he wanted more money for his future stability when the gravy train here was drained by him and those around him with PDC being the main culprit along with his agent in stripping the club of its benefactor namely Black. Personally I couldn't give a monkeys uncle if they go up or not, its not Town so not my concern what Hearne does. But he didn't get the Olympic Stadium as he said he would, lol. Macca Baldi wont play at the higher level anyway. Shame innit, he could have been very key if he had remained here. Oxon, the question I would ask of those who doubt Cooper's tactical nous is: how come we have managed to grind out several hard fought wins against stronger sides than ours? Agree with all of that Scouse, summed it up perfectly, i can't for the life of me understand why Cooper would want to sit back and defend against 10 men when they were there for the taking, especially as we should have been at least 3-0 up before the red card.

I won't add to the comments from posters on Smith other than to say he looks better when he;s sitting in the hole rather than up front trying to hold up the ball which I'm afraid he is totally unsuited for. It's no good Cooper throwing his arms in the air to the fans in despair, he and Power signed him and if we don't have anyone better they have to live by their decisions. Apart from him and Luango i thought nearly everyone else gave good accounts of themselves,

Pritch and Byrne were a little off colour and the latter should have had at least scored on his one on one, Think Alex didn't have the right studs in his boots as he slipped over a few times. as said apart from Smith the only other big disappointment for me was Luango, he looks totally knackered, he hardly ever manages to complete a pass to a team mate, he doesn't track back and he's lost what attacking prowess he had. if there is a player that needs resting it's him. IMO Cooper should have started with Gladwin who really impressed against Preston, but seems to be out of favour to start with Cooper.

All in all, great result, Macormack and Douglas both had poor games and I doubt they will be playing regularly in the Championship when the Bees get promoted, wouldn't mind seeing Trotta or Donaldson playing for us if they are surplus to their requirement, along side Nile we would be untouchable up front.

Saw Kasim in the Arkells stand wearing a special boot and a crutch, don't think we will see him playing again this season. Looking forward to Easter Monday visit of Bradford, Would be nice to see a good turn out, Well done Brentford for bringing nearly 2000 down to swell our numbers to over 9k,

Oxon, the question I would ask of those who doubt Cooper's tactical nous is: how come we have managed to grind out several hard fought wins against stronger sides than ours? It would be more than a bit of a coincidence if they all just happened to have an off day when they played us. You can't win 'em all - but Cooper's won enough and done enough to deserve a lot more credit than he gets.

May I remind you of that poor run of results, Stevenage, Carlisle, Gillingham, Oldham and Colchester... These teams are significantly weaker than us and should be cannon fodder for Swindon, yet Cooper's 'tactics' couldn't find the 3 points we've needed in each of these games.

I don't know why you persist with defending him, I'm still not convinced he is the man to lead Swindon forward.

For me Jay has never lacked desire, in fact his desire to win has sometimes got the better of him, resulted in unnecessary bookings and in one game an early withdrawal to prevent Town playing a man down. Never doubted his commitment and really hope he is with us next season. Would go as far as to say he would make a good captain.

Was it tactics or the team he put out not performing or the opponents playing better. When we lose it seems to me that the ability of the opposition is inferior and we should therefore win. When we don't it is down to the manager, not the team, the manager.

When we win it is down to the team, not the manager , the team. Funny that.

Just out of interest did anyone else hear the interview with Master Stephens on Wilts radio ? He was full of praise for the management team, players and backroom staff. He was unsure what would happen next season but said if it meant going out on loan Town would be his first choice. He also said that he would recommend Town to the Saints.

Perhaps we should employ Darrell Clarke :-)

Well said den, Why any true Swindon fan would believe that Cooper should be sacked is totally beyond me. I think he has done an unbelievable job to get us where we are today, and look at the young players that are coming through.I think we have our most promising side coming through that we have had for some years and at a sustainable cost, yes mistakes have been made, players as well as management, but it's a learning curve. Next season promises to be exciting.

There's too many doom merchants on this forum, most of whom do not have a clue about running or supporting a football team, it's just a shame they seem to shout the loudest at the first possible cause.

Den, I often read your posts first before anyone else's, because there is always a rational thought path behind them, a sense of logic which is human and emotion, which is why you are so good at getting your point across. When I compare Cooper with recent managers, there is no foldy arms and the Wilson blurb which was all so PC, but then again, neither is there all that raw PDC passion and and and and if you know what I mean. He is very much, if you like different. When you brake it down, he does at least tell the truth, and compared with many people that have held the post.......... truthful, frustrated, measured and sometimes a bit naive. Almost to nice to be in this sort of job, but then again, 7th, with a hotch potch of a side thrown together almost, so on reflection I think I and others may have been a bit hard on the guy. Maybe its because we are not used to such honesty, and after listening to what Williams has said about him, and Stephens in his interview there is a picture emerging that we need to look at a bit more closely, all of us.

Anyone that has worked in the development field will tell you that the learning curve looks like a rollover coaster, ups down but in the long run heading upwards. Den is spot on with Cooper who has read the players well and experimented regularly to try the best approach. Also the idea that a weeks training willl affect significantly one players ability fundamentally is naive. Smith will improve over years not days and the key is that it does only through regular games. I expected upper mid table this year but second half season better than first so in a way I was right and wrong at same time. As for next year we cannot put all our eggs in the Ranger basket that's if we keep and play him, we shall need another in the same ilk. I predict This will not be Smith who may be better as a foil or playing everso slightly deeper?

Douglas departed a sinking ship after being shocking all season but how anyone can begrudge Macca a move is beyond me. Always gave 100% for our club when he was here. Totally acceptable for me as Jockster (I think said) nothing wrong for moving to get paid more to secure your families future.

What was pleasing about yesterday was Donaldson getting his just deserts from us. Can't forgive his blatant cheating last year. My only disappointment was not to be able to give Harley the benefit of my opinion after his celebrations in front of the Red Army in that play off game too.

They'll be playing in the Championship next year but those two players will stick with me for a long time.

Personally think it's incredible what we've done this year after all the upheavel. make no bounds about it I'd have taken 5th bottom at the start. Of course everything isn't perfect and I'd definitely like Cooper to be a bit more adventurous but all in all amazing where we are at with a young side. I accept due to the great start it's a bit disappointing we aren't going to make the play offs but I'll always refer in my mind to Cirencester away pre season when we looked awful and light weight.

We have the nucleus of a good young side on sensible wages and I've advocated Louis T being in the team since early season because he brings balance to the midfield. His passing also heavily under rated by the faithful and I love the fact that we can start building a team around the Thompson Twins. Surely that's what all Town fans want?

Really optimistic about next year as Power clearly knows what he's doing with player recruitment and you never know we may have Sherwood as manager which might cheer up the Cooper haters......

I was listening to an interview with the coach of GWS Giants, the newest franchise in the AFL (Australian Rules). AFL has a draft system, whereby a new team like the Giants get the pick of the drafts for the first few years of their existance. This means they have a very young side, and for the first two years I think they only won one game each season. However, nobody panicked, nobody sacked the coach, because it was recognised that it was a development phase. As the coach said "It's all about giving these kids game time. That's how they really learn" Now in their third season, as some of these youngsters approach the 50 game mark (only 22 games in an AFL season), they have won 2 of their first four games and came very close to a third win yesterday (there are no lucky wins in AFL - you have to be the best team on the day).
It seems to me, and I'm sure anybody else who has ever taken the trouble to listen carefully to what Power & Cooper say, that they have a very clear development plan. From what I can see, hear and read from these distant shores, they are executing that plan extremely well.
I can understand a bit of abuse being aimed at the opposition or the officials, but the constant abuse aimed at our own players and management by some "fans" is just destructive. If you want our players to get better, encourage them, don't abuse them. If you want them to be worse, abuse them.
Rant over!

Superb performance by the whole team yesterday and Stephens and Louis Thompson the stand out players for me. Brentford are a tough side to beat and we deservedly won the game and it should have been by two or three goals as well but a great performance by us though.
Stephens at the back is so cool on the ball and really hope we can get him on a season long loan next season.
Well done MC on getting the tactics spot on today. The ref was absolutely shocking today and how some of their players didn't get booked first half is beyond belief and for macca blatantly kicking Pritchard who I felt seemed scared of macca at times.
Always great to beat brentford after their players celebrations in front of us last season in the play offs especially Harlee dean.

Great performance gritty and determined.

The officials were useless again.

Thought Pritchard was ineffective again and I personally think we played better without him when he was banned?

Jay mc playing better and better each week, the new lad at the back is a star of the future if only we could sign him up.

Again fodds kept us in it but I really can see him moving on at the end of the season, I don't want him to go but think he deserves to play at the highest level.

Louis Thompson was immense and along with his brother should be the fist names on the team sheet.

If only we could of got a few extra away points and we would be right in there with Peterborough. Seven points with four games to go might just be a gap to far. But you never know !!

The most pleasing thing for me yesterday was the workrate and attitude of the entire team. It would be easy to let the season drift to the end with so little to play for like a few teams in other divisions are doing but the desire and commitment to try and get a result yesterday was fantastic.

Still struggling to understand the constant abuse Michael Smith gets from the stands. Yes at times again yesterday his first touch was very poor but you can see the lad is very low on confidence now and how people think abusing him is going to make him play any better is beyond me. A few people around me were calling for him to be replaced by Storey yesterday from about the 15th minute onwards yet went very quiet when Storey couldn't keep hold of the ball either when he came on.

This is the major part of both of their games that needs to be worked on but there is no lack of effort from either of them particularly Smith who did a great job of closing down and harassing their back 4 yesterday. As a couple of other posters have mentioned some people just wait for him to make a mistake so that they can scream abuse at him but will not even get close to acknowledging when he does something good like the through ball to Byrne yesterday or the few headers he won against 2 big centre backs to start attacks.

All in all though very proud of the team yesterday and very encouraging for next season. It is easy to say that we should have won the games against the likes of Oldham, Stevenage etc and we would have been in the play-offs but im sure every team has dropped points in games they think they should have won. Even Wolves drew at Stevenage and Carlisle and lost at Crawley. It is no surprise that the teams in the top 6 are the ones with the experience of playing at this level which has bought them greater consistency.

Would be interested in London Reds opinion on Diagouragas performance today, he has advocated his signing, as I have, however today he looked ordinary and not good enough for us.
Agree.

I think I must have cursed him :0)
.
I've seen him a few times and that was his worst game I've seen him play - however as Stigger said lets not do the usual Swindon thing and judge a player on one game!
.
The guy has played for Brentford for a few seasons while they have been at the top - so must have something about him
.
Then again even his poor game was no worse than we have seen from any of our own midfielders this season!
.
Also lets not forget the L1 player of the year had a poor game and was sent off!
.
As for the game thought Cooper did very well to start with and the AC Milan 343 did cause all sorts of problems and if Byrne was a natural winger we probably would have been out of sight
.
Thought Byrne had a pretty good game though and really rate him - but you could tell beating the last man one on one is not his natural game
.
However, Cooper lost it through his subs - or lack of - not for the first time
.
Brentford were down to 10 pushing on so we should have changed to hit them more on the counter - they we so comfortable they took off a defender and added another attacker while down to 10!
.
That shouldn't have been like for like but a whole shift in formation
.
Gladwin for Smith was pointless - as we have seen before he is not a striker!
.
Why have Waldon in the squad if we won't use him? Surely he has to be released if won't even be used as a sub!
.
As for the others:
.
Thought Jay started poorly - but grew as the game went on - though still that red mist exists with another needless booking (though his dissent was far less than half the Brentford team who got away with loads!)
.
Thought Smith had a bad game against Sheff but this beat it! Granted the kids is young but basic control is not something you learn I your mid twenties!
.
The boy really needs to beef up over the summer and do some serious work with Ranger on hold up play!
.
Branco had a good game and was more line the Posh debut Branco again!
.
Think Pritchard is getting a tad unfair stick - it was him who sent Byrne free with a great ball early on, him who then won the penalty and despite being assaulted by Macca (which somehow all 3 officials missed) he didn't react and was not booked for dissent - so showing he might have learnt!
.
All in all we now clearly show we can live with the best of L1 - so with a fee tweaks we should be able to challenge next year

It was reported a while back that Power had been talking to another Prem club about loans and that the outcome was positive. I'm not in favour of too many loans as I have always said the system can be abused to a point at the cost of home grown talent, but I would like to know which club Power was in talks with.

I think Navarro has retired out from the game and Benson(who didn't score yesterday, Luton losing at home) has agreed a deal with Luton, so I think out of the residue Andy Williams is still the biggest potential earner and I believe he has yet another to run on his contract. I wonder if he'll take a pay cut ?

Time to ship out the WELL OVER PAYED rubbish we have and start looking towards next season..What sort of team we have next season only Mr Power knows..???
It was reported a while back that Power had been talking to another Prem club about loans and that the outcome was positive. I'm not in favour of too many loans as I have always said the system can be abused to a point at the cost of home grown talent, but I would like to know which club Power was in talks with.

I think Navarro has retired out from the game and Benson(who didn't score yesterday, Luton losing at home) has agreed a deal with Luton, so I think out of the residue Andy Williams is still the biggest potential earner and I believe he has yet another to run on his contract. I wonder if he'll take a pay cut ?
Williams is out of contract thank god!
.
The guy is not a striker and had enough money off us to even stay on a reduced wage - plenty of other quick forward who can score who would be cheaper than him

And I thought you were one of his biggest fans. I must admit to be being one too, and prayed he would come good for us as he had been in the season before joining us. Wasn't it something like 20 odd for his former club ?

OK a few controls didn't come off but he alone bullied a defence who liked to dish it out.

Excellent post and some should hang their heads in shame with their over the top blast at the player. At least when Smith came off he got a good applause and its only the minority who spoil it. He is a young lad and like most say is leading the line on his own against seasoned defenders and works his tail off for the cause and it is a massive task for the player to play on his own.Yes he has plenty to learn but would do it better without idiots slagging him off during games.

I am a huge fan of us developing our own talent, as my view has been that at this level although loan players have their uses home grown are the way to go, which to a point falls in with Powers philosophy.

In just this last week we have had depth insight as to what the negative effect had with Pericard, a great player in there, but unable to mentally surface due to psychological pressure and demons. We really don't want to be going down that avenue again. I think Power should come out and make a case that this barracking is out of bounds.

I think a lot of it is born of crowd frustration at 0-0 it would appear with the lack of ball control by Michael, chances are being missed.
I've only seen him a couple of times, and must be quite honest and say the amount of times when he let the ball bounce off of shins instead of controlling it was not really acceptable.
Easy for us so called players/managers in the crowd, but there again that is his profession.
Hopefully in time he should improve - early doors .... I hope.

Week in, week out the Thompson boys just keep getting better, no denying it, hard work, more hard work, heads never drop, they just keep getting better.

COYMR

Cooper does not want to become embroiled with these idiots and just let them get on with it.
Like all of us i suspect we are not happy with all what Cooper, or any manager for that matter, does but are constructive in the views we give and not post bile about him because he has nit picked our favorite player and so on.
Biggest factor of it all is that some people are just really unhappy that we have had a good season and they were wrong but just can not admit it.

But the season is not just 5 games is it, it is 46.

I think the mistake MR makes is not appreciating that playing this way gives us our best chance of winning against many of the sides in this division. We beat Coventry, Preston, Sheff U and Brentford that way. It's definitely not pretty but we don't have the players to play an open game without leaving ourselves vulnerable to the counter attack. We could easily have ended up with nought out of 12 from those games. This is what impresses me about Cooper. He can see the weaknesses and he works around them as well as he can.

" Basic control is not something you learn in your mid twenties " . No but it can be improved with plenty of practice.

Simply not true.... don't see our midfielders shanking the ball into the 20th tier when trying to make a sideways pass. Surprised his manager took almost an hour to realise that and withdraw him as he was not having any impact. Louis will be 10 times the player he has ever been and no way would I want his place taken by a player who has scored just 10 times in over 250 games.

All about opinions MR. I feared for us at the start of the season as I thought we had too many weaknesses in the squad to be anything but a mid-table side at the very best. Yes, we've had bad results and I can't say many of them have been very surprising. 7th place IS however a very pleasant surprise. You can't understand how I persist in defending Cooper; I can't understand why anyone would want to attack him.

Who said I was calling for Cooper's sacking? Where did any of those words come from David...?!

Let's see where we are come Christmas.

Lot's of things need to be done e.g. retaining, Wes, Stephens, TAH, The Thompsons and Ranger. Without them I'd like to see Cooper's managerial 'nous' come into play.

MR, I think you are spot on in terms of that list of key players for next season. But there is every chance that for one reason or another, none of them might be available to Cooper.

That will not be Mark Cooper's choice but based on what we have seen this season, he has responded admirably to every challenge thrown at him.

Please give him some credit and give him a chance.

Negative! if that was negative then bring it on!

Time to settle down and watch the Masters.

Den,
They say that everybody is born right handed but only the greatest overcome it - and I should know lol! So I had to back Bubba -:) - good day as I had a L31 up on the gee gees! - only mentioned that for Chish lol!

Ah the Dynamic Duo Wilma & Joan bless! Why does Cows arse & banjo always come to mind when their names are mentioned. Collins last heard of at Hibernian still not scoring as I recall. Strange how they both fell rapidly from grace after starring at Stoke.

Nice one. Jason Day was my bet. 5 shots down the Swannee in 4 holes on the first day and he was treading water after that. Bit rusty after an injury lay off though.

What a waste of space smith is
And the new scapegoat is......... And before you say anything, no i did not think he had a good game, but i am not going to through him under the bus.

Absolutely agree - no need for anyone to slag off our own players, especially before the game! I will say in Smith's defence as well it's not an easy role to play being up front on your own, especially as often we are slow to break forward and support the striker (second half Saturday we were especially sitting back and made his role a bit redundant). He did also play in Byrne for what would've been a cracking goal, but looking at Smith I don't think he's really a target man, just gets played there because of his height. When we've seen him get the ball in a decent position he can finish well, but doesn't have that vital first touch to bring the ball under control the way a target man would. Play him up front with Ranger and he'd be far more effective (could say that of any player though I suppose!) Ranger, sort yourself out, sign an extension, and propel us up the league next season! I can dream...

Someone above said Coops threw his arms up at the critisism Smthy was getting. I cold'nt make out if Coops was taking the P!ss or not , after failing to control another pass the crowd were shouting "get him off" Coops turns round put his arms up and shouts back "Who and Why" , enjoyed the game hough , the reason fans do get frustrated is beacuse we struggle against Carlisle , yet turn over Preston , Sheffield and Brentford , then Preson show exactly how to deal with Carlisle . I so disagree with London Red about Diagouraga when he said this - Then again even his poor game was no worse than we have seen from any of our own midfielders this season!

You are honestly saying you have not seen one mis hit pass by any of our players?
.
I saw Stephens hit a bad mis placed one in the same game!
.
I've also seen our play it out while missing someone 10 yards form them!
.
These things happen
.
I guess you missed his through ball which set up Trotta then - or only focus on the one poor momment of his game?
.
Football is more than 11 players and if Louis gets injured we will need others
.
Also if you note I actually said I would have him alongside Louis - so playing the role Jay did on Sat
.
Jay did have a pretty good game to be fair to him but I wouldn't want him there week in week out as he is not a defensive midfielder - note defensive - goals are not really the best judge of that position

We will disagree then...can't see him being signed anyway so it's pretty irrelevant.

They undoubtedly will have the last laugh Den, but one must take up every chance one has to stick it up em even if it is for a short time.
They are ready for promotion now Den, where as we are not so i will enjoy the rest of the season and readily admit we have fared better than i thought would of been possible, who knows what tomorrow brings!

We'll get the better of 'em in the long run Steve. When somebody eventually gets hold of our club and takes it to its true potential level, we'll be ahead of them. It could so easily have happened under the Black regime. We'll just have to wait a bit longer, that's all.

When I was walking into the ground on Saturday I was struck by the fact that we've haven't managed to develop the Town End in the 50 odd years since my first game. Not exactly news, I know, but with all that room behind it, it must be the easiest part of the ground to sort out. I hope it happens soon because it stands there as a reminder that we've not made any real progress in those 50 years.

PS Plenty of Alka Seltzer / paracetemol today?

Good post and all very true Den, if we had owned the County Ground we may well be in the same position as Brentford are, that said with the unscrupulous characters around and our luck we may well have f-all.
Every time i see the Townend nowadays i think how sad it is to see it left behind, it really could be the show case of the CG.

You are spot on also with the PS in your post mate, bad head this morning and a easy decision to work from home (although not much got done) i`m just about ready to eat and join up with civilisation although strictly no alcohol for a day or so is necessary.

One thing I remembered at the weekend. We watered the pitch before kick off. But several town players , were slipping up on the wet top.

Just wonder what the thinking is , behind the pitch being watered ?

Or should the town players just have longer studs in to cope with the damp pitch?
