WAYNE Hutchinson and Walkon failed to finish the Grand National at Aintree this afternoon after the Swindon jockey was forced to pull the horse up.
After a spate of early fallers the Alan King-trained horse was part of the leading pack as they headed for home but the pair eventually failed to finish.
Pineau De Re, a 25/1 shot trained by Dr Richard Newland and ridden by Leighton Aspell, won the race ahead of Balthazhar King and Double Seven.
Eighteen of the 40-strong field managed to finish the race but it has been reported all jockeys and horses have returned safely.
Although he missed out in the big race of the day, Hutchinson did taste success at Aintree as he rode Balder Success to victory in the Doom Bar Maghull Novices Chase earlier this afternoon.
