PREDICTIONS LEAGUE: Swindon Town v Sheffield United

The Town are on a roll, 7 points from their last three games, and three performances that, whilst at times messy, none the less were full of determination and commitment. Can we make three wins out of three? We shall find out. The last time Town managed that was back last October, when we beat Tranmere at home, the impressive and emphatic win away to Rotherham, capped off by another home win against Notts County.

After such a poor start to the season, Nigel Clough has honed the Blades into a much sharper outfit of late. They have won eight of their last 10 league games and have propelled themselves from relegation candidates to hopeful play-off contenders. Couple that with their exploits in the FA Cup, reaching the Semi-Finals and trip to Wembley to face Hull next month, their win rate is 11 in 13.

Last season, both clubs were beaten semi-finalists in the Play-offs. If either club still have desires to get to this season’s play-off competition then a win is a must. A draw will do neither any good. Lose and any faint glimmer will finally be extinguished.

All that said, it should be a fiercely fought game. Nathan Byrne and Troy Archibald-Henville look set to return, and with the Michael Smith, Ben Gladwin and Miles Storey combination up front, we should be in with a shout.
