MILES Storey handed Swindon Town their first successive win since October as the Robins sank Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park.

There was a hint of good fortune about Storey’s second goal of the campaign, but it mattered not as Town followed up Saturday’s 1-0 win over Preston North End with another three points this evening.

After a quiet opening 10 minutes at Prenton Park, the game burst into life when Alex Smith drilled Town into the lead from 20 yards with 12 minutes on the clock.

But that lead was short-lived as Rovers were level three minutes lates. Having fluffed a simple chance seconds earlier, Max Power fired beyond a diving Wes Foderingham from the edge of the Town area.

Foderingham pulled off a superb save on the half-hour mark when Power picks out Jake Cassidy and the Town stopper tips his strike over the bar.

The hosts were fired up at the start of the second half and were quickly on the attack with Ryan Lowe striking the crossbar in a matter of seconds.

Power struck the crossbar again for the host on 66 minutes after a lovely ball over the top of the Town defence by Danny Holmes.

However, after all Rovers’ pressure Town were in front just 60 seconds later as Storey, playing his second game since returning from his loan spell at Shrewsbury Town, grabbed his second goal of the season as his cross floated over Owain Fon Williams.
