MARLBOROUGH are closing in on a near-flawless title-winning campaign after another sackful of points on Saturday.

With two games to go, the Common men have claimed victories in all 20 of their league fixtures to date, only failing to take a bonus point once.

After a relatively slow start at Chippenham, centre Waisale Navunidaku shrugged off several tackles for the opening try.

Excellent passing put the ball into the hands of Tom Regan who threw a dummy and outpaced the defence to touch down in the corner.

Second row Jack Lynd found himself lurking in the centres to take a crash ball and break through the defence for the third try.

Fly-half Armori Nailago then threw a dummy and outwitted the covering defence, Regan converting.

Chippenham stuck back but another dummy from Nailago brought him his second, Bruce Vuetanatotoka adding the conversion which was easily slotted.

After some more strong running, the ball was popped to Navunidaku who scored his second, Vuetanatotoka again converting.

After the break, with Shaun Anderson causing mayhem at the rucks, Will Grant got his hands on loose ball and rounded two defenders to outpace the covering tackles and go in for the try, converted by Regan who did so again as Dan Porteus stormed through tackles and over from the halfway line.

Anderson’s yellow card allowed Chippenham another score but Nailago added another score, converted by Regan and Lynd also crossed again.
