LOUIS Thompson and Ryan Harley will both miss Swindon Town’s trip to Tranmere Rovers tomorrow after picking up injuries in training towards the back end of last week.

The midfield pair did not feature in Town’s 1-0 win over Preston North End at the County Ground on Saturday, with Thompson’s foot in a protective boot after he twisted his ankle on Thursday and Harley struggling with a locked hip sustained on Friday.

Manager Mark Cooper revealed after the game that neither will be fit enough to travel to Prenton Park, while full-back Nathan Byrne, who has missed the last two games with a grade one hamstring tear, is still ‘touch and go’.

Cooper said: “Louis is in a boot. He twisted his ankle on Thursday. Obviously the training ground has dried up now and it’s a little bit rutted.

“He’s gone over in a divot and has twisted his ankle.

“Ryan Harley had a problem with his hip yesterday, so they were both late withdrawals. They’ve got no chance for midweek.

“Nathan Byrne will be touch and go for Tuesday.”
