CALNE Town ended a run of three successive Toolstation League First Division defeats as they claimed an excellent 3-1 win at Cheddar.

The Lilywhites seized the lead just before the quarter-hour mark when James Darbyshire chipped home.

The lead was doubled seven minutes into the second half when Glenn Armstrong was felled in the penalty area and picked himself to score from the spot.

Armstrong added a second minutes later after being set up by Tom Slater.

Seun Olabiyi put the hosts ahead when he forced the ball home from a corner, but Vale turned the game on its head as captain Ricky Franklin and Mark Field both netted.

Olabiyi's second earned the hosts a point.
