WES Foderingham was pleased Swindon Town gave their fans a performance to be proud of as they hung on for a 0-0 draw at Bristol City yesterday.

Foderingham, who returned from a month out with a groin injury to keep his side’s first clean sheet in seven matches at Ashton Gate, was well aware of the need for an improved showing following turgid displays in recent weeks.

And he felt Town provided just that for the 2,004 supporters who made the short trek down the M4.

“We needed a result, there’s no two ways about it. Our recent form hasn’t been good, it’s a derby so it’s good to get the point for the fans,” he said.

“I think the play-offs are gone now, if I’m totally honest. I don’t think we’ll go down, even though I know some people have been talking about that. We’ve done very well considering the amount of changes we’ve had this year.

“We’re just going to try to keep on playing our football and hopefully it will bode well for next season.

“We’ve got massive fixtures coming up so it will be a good chance for the boys who are starting to get a chance in the team now.”

A great display yesterday, made some fantastic saves. Hard choice for motm you would have got my vote, but gave it to troy on the basis that him and Stevens was working extremely on top form throughout this tough test.
I'm sure your games will be made such easier with the middle pairing whom I must say what a debut Stevens had.
Makes you wonder what may have been without ward and hall in our side.
People moaned at smiths miss but it was two superb saves and shouldn't take that away from fielding.
Gladly take a point after the Pritchard fiasco,
Thought kettle done everything right with some reckless tackles going in, lucky on another day he may have gave a couple of pens( too far away to comment) saying that he perhaps could have booked one for diving.
Didn't miss ward and didn't miss his leadership.

Good to hear some plain speaking from Wes. "We’ve done very well considering the amount of changes we’ve had this year.

Roll on 2014/15!

Good to read that Wes is looking to next season. With luck the poor showing of our defence this season may have diminished the possibility of Wes leaving.
I am more than happy (but not of the clapping variety) to finish mid table if that means we are able to retain his services.

How can he be proud of that performance? Defensively yes but as an overall performance, absolutely not!!
