NATHAN Thompson is unlikely to play a part in tomorrow’s League One clash with Wolves after injuring his groin during Swindon Town’s weekend defeat to MK Dons.

The right-back was substituted late in the second half of the clash at the County Ground and was due to be assessed by Town’s medical team over the weekend, though manager Mark Cooper does not expect him to be available for the game against the table-toppers.

As a result, the Robins may well postpone the surgery Jay McEveley requires to shave a piece of bone in his knee so that the defender can be available for several important matches in the coming weeks.

Of Thompson, Cooper said: “He’s tweaked his groin a little bit so I’d think he’ll be a doubt for Tuesday.

“Jay needs the operation and with Nathan maybe missing out now we’ll probably need Jay.

“We’ll speak on a daily basis and see how his knee is.”
