ALL four Swindon players competing in next week’s UK Open have avoided being drawn in the preliminary round.

Dennis Smith, Johnny Haines, Mark Cox and Chris Aubrey have all been drawn to begin their campaigns in round one having successfully negotiated the qualifying campaign to make sure of their places in Minehead.

The quartet have also avoided any big names for their first round matches, starting the competition against players ranked below them in the PDC Order of Merit.

Smith, the most experienced of the four players, takes on Mark Hylton on the second stage in Minehead while Johnny Haines will battle it out with Steve Douglas.

Aubrey will take on the winner of the preliminary round contest between Carl Green and Lionel Sams while Cox’s opponent is Shaun Narain.

The UK Open begins a week today running through to the final on the evening of Sunday, March 9.
