SWINDON Town manager Mark Cooper is pleased to be able to recall the experience of Nathan Thompson and Jay McEveley this evening.

Thompson has completed a two-match suspension incurred after he picked up his 10th booking of the campaign against Colchester Unitaed on Valentine’s Day, while McEveley is back from the four-match ban he was slapped with following his dismissal in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy area final first leg clash at Peterborough.

Both players are expected to slide straight into the starting line-up for the visit of Crawley Town in League One tonight, giving Cooper the extra know-how that was lacking during the 2-0 defeat to Leyton Orient on Saturday.

“Nathan and Jay give us a little bit of experience,” he said. “Although Nathan is young he’s still got plenty of experience and they give us a bit of drive as well. We’re pleased we’ve got them back.

“If you look at the team we had out on Saturday it was very young and very inexperienced, and we had no real options. Everyone that was available travelled and was in the squad.”

Louis Thompson will return to the Town squad after resuming training with the Robins yesterday.

The midfielder missed the defeat to Orient due to bone bruising on his ankle but manager Mark Cooper confirmed to the local press on Monday that the teenager has been cleared to play.

Wes Foderingham underwent a scan on the hip and groin problem which forced him to miss the loss at Brisbane Road yesterday, and Cooper will make a late decision on his goalkeeper’s involvement.

Dany N’Guessan is over a groin issue, trained on Monday and is fit for selection for Cooper.
