MARK Cooper has pledged that Swindon Town will make life “as uncomfortable” as they can for Leyton Orient when they visit Brisbane Road tomorrow.

With league leaders Brentford playing third-placed Wolves, Orient could go top of the pile once again with victory over the Robins this weekend but Cooper is not about to let his team lie down for the slaughter.

Town are seeking revenge for a 3-1 home drubbing at the hands of the O’s in November and go into the match unbeaten in three matches away from the County Ground - their best run on the road all term.

Orient bounced back from a four-game winless steak with victory over Stevenage on Tuesday night and Cooper is expecting a tough test in east London on Saturday, but he has backed his Robins players to stand up to the challenge.

“They’ve done well, Orient, and everyone has been waiting for their bubble to burst,” he said.

“Last week maybe one or two thought it had but they’ve got good characters and they’re back into second. We’re thoroughly capable of going there and winning the game.

“You’re allowed to lose games, it happens to the best of teams. They’ve had a result the other night, they’ve made sure it was a blip and not a bubble bursting. We have to go there and ask questions of them.

“They know they've got to keep winning to stay in the top two and we’ll make it as uncomfortable as we can.”

Cooper admires Slade’s success at Orient, saying: “They’ve got a squad that you can tell have been together foar a while and they’ve got very good characters that you would want in the trenches with you, all of them. That takes a while to get when you’re building a squad and a team.

“They’re very resolute, they all know what they’re doing and they’re difficult to play against.

“I’d say they’ve got a group of good men, characters who know what it takes to win at their level.”
