SWINDON Town’s selection problems have increased ahead of the trip to Leyton Orient this weekend with the news that Alex Pritchard and Louis Thompson have both been ruled out of the clash through injury.

Pritchard strained a medial ligament during the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy defeat to Peterborough United on Monday night and faces two weeks on the sidelines, while Louis Thompson has bone bruising on the ankle and will not take part at Brisbane Road.

Meanwhile, Dany N’Guessan will face a late fitness test to decide whether or not he can be selected by manager Mark Cooper after suffering a groin strain.

The trio are joined on the casualty list by Grant Hall, Nile Ranger and Ryan Mason, who has not reached full fitness after a recent side strain, while Jay McEveley and Nathan Thompson are both suspended.

“Alex Pritchard has got a grade one medial ligament strain and will be out for two weeks-ish,” Cooper told the local media this lunchtime. “Dany N’Guessan has got a groin strain and is touch and go for Saturday and Louis Thompson has got bone bruising to his ankle and will not feature on Saturday.

“Alex picked it up in the first half and did remarkably well to play on. Dany reported it this morning. He fancied a couple of days off and then told us today, which wasn’t ideal. Louis has been playing with that for a number of weeks.

“We’ll see if Dany can train tomorrow and take it from there.”
