YASER Kasim will try to keep himself as busy as possible in the build-up to the weekend trip to Leyton Orient as he looks to banish the memories of Monday’s penalty shoot-out defeat to Peterborough United in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Kasim scored from 12 yards in the shootout but Massimo Luongo and Tijane Reis missed the target altogether as Posh ran out 4-3 winners, adavancing to Wembley for the final on March 30.

It was a bitter pill to swallow for Kasim and his teammates but, with a difficult visit to Brisbane Road appearing rapidly on the not-so-distant horizon, the Iraqi midfielder knows Town have to get themselves right mentally if they want to seriously pursue a League One play-off place.

Kasim has decided being active and seeing those closest to him is the best way to go about preparing for the clash against Orient on Saturday.

“We will rest but it depends on the player.

“For me I will try and be busy, go to the gym and have a swim and also spend time with family back home in London,” he told the Advertiser.

“When you are so close and have been through so much in this cup it really hurts and it’s tough to take but we have to move on from it.

“We were one penalty shoot-out away from Wembley and it just didn’t go right for us.

“I can’t say for Mass(imo) and Tijane but as a footballer they will bounce back.

“They have to because it’s their job.

“Once we’re back in training the boys will get around them and I’m sure it will be fine.

“We’ve got Orient which is a big game so we need to pick ourselves up and move on.

“We have to see the positives because we played well and we weren’t going to lose the game, it never looked like we would lose the game, so to lose on penalties is tough to take.

“Depending on where we are and things like that we would be happy (with two draws against Peterborough).

“We’ve played them a few times now and if we played them over 10 games we are the better team. We just didn’t get there.”

That's what your supposed to do when you're interviewed. A great player, and very articulate.
