SWINDON TOWN: Ranger available for Colchester visit

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald: Nile Ranger Nile Ranger

NILE Ranger looks set to play a part for Swindon Town against Colchester United tomorrow after manager Mark Cooper confirmed the striker was "a million per cent" available for selection.

Ranger was found not to have breached the terms of his bail after being picked up by Northumbria Police in Newcastle on Tuesday night, having been granted leave by Town to meet with his legal counsel ahead of his upcoming trial, which begins on February 24.

The forward trained as normal with the Robins this morning and is expected to feature in Cooper's matchday squad when the U's visit the County Ground tomorrow night (kick-off 7.45pm).

Meanwhile, Cooper has revealed that midfielder Ryan Mason will return to full training on Monday after a spell out of action with a side strain.

“Ryan Mason is a lot, lot better and I would anticipate he’d be back in full training for the start of next week," Cooper told the local press this lunchtime.

“What we’re not going to do is make him train on Monday and play on Tuesday. We’ve got to make sure he’s 100 per cent fit, like we have done, and hopefully he can have a spell injury-free."

Great News on Ranger - i hope we are starting with a strong 11 tomorrow and Ranger to be in from the start . Important game tomorrow night which will put us in good stead for the Posh on Monday night. Wining breathes confidence and good performances breath confidence.
By all accounts Colchester are going for all out attack tomorrow night with all the strikers he has if they do go all out attack it could be good for us as opposed to most teams sitting back and hitting us on the counter.

I feel we are due a big win and tomorrow could be the night with Nile hitting a hat trick.

I feel we need him more when we won't have Smith for the JPT Semi-Final.

I agree we are a much more potent force with Ranger in the side and that nobody should pre-judge his trial status but come on guys reading the above posts anybody would think he's on the point of being beatified as a saint for goodness sake.

I'm also pleased that he's available to play but I'm keeping my feet a bit more on the ground.

If he's guilty, I hope he gets his just deserts and if he's innocent I hope he walks away a free man. Let's just hope the jury gets to the truth. You seem very sure he's innocent.

I agree with Since 1950 . The Adver front page as was huge but the story did not explain why Nile has been re arrested.

Was he supposed to be a nightclub ? Presumably his legal team dont work in Nightclubs.

Did I miss something ? If anyone can possibly explain , what actualy happened it would help as I certainly cant understand what the Adver story was all about.
