THE Wednesday Open match at Ivy House Fishery, under new management having been purchased by Andy Lloyd, attracted a fair entry and weights were reasonable with carp making up the weights.
Neil Richards carried off top prize with a carp and silvers catch weighing 46 lb 5 oz.
Frank Roberts took runners up spot with a carp catch weighing 40 lb 6 oz, with Mike Nicholls, from Bitton, third with 39 lb 14 oz of carp.
The silvers prize went to John Howell with a weight of 4 lb 13 oz.
Other placings: 4. Val Murray 39 lb 2 oz; 5. Phil Harding 30 lb 0 oz; 6. Alan Oram 24 lb 5 oz.
COMPETITORS enjoyed good sport on Sunday in the Wilts Angling Open match fished on the Kennet & Avon Canal at Devizes.
In-form Kevin Rowles, from Devizes carried off top prize with a mixed catch of bream, skimmers and roach weighing 13 lb 2 oz.
Mick Martin, from Trowbridge, pushed him all the way with a mixed catch of tench, perch and roach weighing 12 lb 10 oz.
Mick Gale, from Chippenham, clinched third prize with a bream, perch and skimmers catch weighing 11 lb 14 oz.
Other placings: 4. Gary Etheridge Devizes 10 lb 3 oz; 5. Liam Braddell Chippenham 7 lb 5 oz; 6. Nick Johns Trowbridge 6 lb 9 oz.
