THREE members of the Swindon Town academy have been selected to attend a Scotland Under 15 international training camp in Turkey.

Will Christopher, Callum Gunner and Jordan Young have all been chosen by Scottish age group coach Scot Gemmill to take part in the week-long camp.

Academy manager Jeremy Newton was delighted by the news, telling Town’s official website: “It's great to have the recognition. It's fantastic because it reflects all the hard work that goes in from all academy staff. It's also great for the players and shows how much hard work they've put in.

"While they are in Turkey, the remainder of our under 15s will be in the Caribbean, playing against the Cayman national team and Houston Dynamo's under 16s."

Gemmill told the club’s website: "We're looking forward to working with the players as we continue our build-up to the forthcoming Victory Shield tournament. It was good of Jeremy and Swindon Town to let them attend."

Town manager Mark Cooper shared his thoughts on the matter, saying: "It's a fantastic achievement for the players. It's also recognition for the football club and the good work that is being done by the academy. Having worked with the players in the academy, I can understand why they've been chosen and long may it continue."
