PREDICTIONS LEAGUE: Stevenage and Gillingham Results & Updates

Two away matches and two defeats. Not quite what the doctor ordered. We are doing ok on home soil, which is just as well because our away form is shocking. January is usually the defining period of most team’s season. Two years ago we went on our winning streak of 10 straight wins and muscled our way to the top of League Two. Once there, we stayed top ‘till the end of the season, picking up our 3rd League Title.

This season, our away form is just not good enough. We should be picking up wins against the likes of Stevenage and Gillingham if we have any aspirations on the Play-offs. But let’s not forget, both of those clubs are fighting for points too, so they are never going to be a gimme.

While at the beginning of the season, the play-offs were a reasonable target for some, realistically a top half finish now would be a good result.

IF, and it could be a big IF. If we can keep the bulk of the squad together in the summer, add to the defence, a playmaker in the middle of the park and a more efficient goal-scorer we should be able to move on from this season.

Anyway, back to the present.
