FRANCOIS Louw says Bath are wary of complacency and will not allow themselves to take their foot off the gas as they march forward on all fronts this season.

The Rec outfit are currently third in the Aviva Premiership, unbeaten after two LV= Cup clashes and have booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Amlin Challenge Cup.

But Flanker Louw wants to see his side maintain their high standards.

“We’re fighting across all competitions and as a club we want to impose ourselves on all levels of rugby,” the South African international told the Wiltshire Times.

“We’ve been performing pretty decently in the Premiership so far and the Amlin is going well but the worst thing we can do is become complacent right now.

“You always want to have momentum and you want to carry on with it when you do get on to that ride.

“We approach every game we play with a serious attitude, whether it be a United game or a Premiership game against the likes of Harlequins or Saracens.”

Springbok Louw also thinks that Bath’s recent raft of international call-ups is testament to the performances his teammates have served up in recent months.

He said: “It’s a fantastic place to be when guys are getting picked for the England EPS squad and the junior side, and the other internationals too, like Paul James getting picked for Wales.

“It obviously means that we’re doing something right here and giving those players a platform to perform.

“There’s a massive enjoyment factor and a great vibe at the club at the moment.”
