ST Moritz again proved a fruitful hunting ground for Shelley Rudman as she claimed her first podium finish of the FIBT World Cup season today.

Rudman, who was crowned world champion for the first time in her career at the Swiss track last February, finished third in the latest World Cup round this morning.

The Pewsey slider, 32, clocked 1:10.37 for her opening run, enough for third fastest overall. A second-fastest 1:09.95 second time out was enough to secure third place overall as American Noelee Pickus-Pace won the event, with series leader Lizzy Yarnold, of Great Britain, second, just four hundredths of a second ahead of Rudman.

The Wiltshire competitor remains third overall in the standings.
