NICKY Ajose has released a statement thanking the fans and staff of Swindon Town following his return to parent club Peterborough.

Ajose scored 10 times in 21 appearances for the Robins after making the temporary switch from Posh in August but was recalled from his loan stint on Monday a game early.

On New Year's Eve the striker sent out a statement via the Twitter account of his representatives James Grant Football.

The statement read: "I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone at Swindon Town for how well they have treated me over the last four months.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club, special thanks to Mark Cooper who has shown real belief in me to get me back to my best as well as the fans who have treated me like one of their own. Best of luck for the remainder of the season."
