Massimo feels Town have their swagger back

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald: Town's Massimo Luongo Town's Massimo Luongo

MASSIMO Luongo feels Swindon Town have got their mojo back following their comeback victory over Coventry City on Saturday.

Goals from Yaser Kasim and Miles Storey turned the match on its head at the County Ground, after Leon Clarke bundled home the opener for the Sky Blues.

After a limp defeat to Sheffield United seven days previously, the win was the perfect tonic for Town and Luongo thinks it will give the squad real impetus going into the tricky trips to Brentford and Bradford City between Christmas and the new year.

“It was definitely exciting for us,” said the Aussie, who credited manager Mark Cooper with having a huge influence on proceedings by introducing Kasim and Storey as second-half substitutes.

“I 100 per cent enjoyed playing in that game.

“Credit to them, they’re a passing side and they made it good to watch both ways.

“I think we’ve got our personality back a little bit, playing the way we do.

“Mase (Ryan Mason) wasn’t feeling so well through the week it was the right thing to do, bringing on Yaser, and credit to the gaffer he’s done the right thing.

“It was some fresh legs because the first half was tiring trying to weather the storm a little bit.

“Those changes proved the difference and we definitely took the game to them.

“The back four was solid and if we can do that again and again, there are always goals for us.

“Coming off a loss it’s given us a lot of confidence going into Christmas.

“It sets us up for the few games we’ve got.

“We know what we can do out there.”

You must have come on after jalf time then Massimo. If Coventry could hit a target they would have been at least 3-0 up at half time after slicing through our defence.
