PREDICTIONS LEAGUE: Sheffield Utd v Swindon Town After the mid-week cup exploits and the penalty shoot-out victory, it’s back to the matter of the league.

Saturday sees the first of four difficult December games for the Town. Last season The Blades were in the top 6 all the way, and with a good shout at automatic promotion. But like the season before, they could not get over the finishing line.

Last season, our trip to Bramall Lane was a fruitless one. The Blades, challenging for one of the top spots that would see them return to the second tier, us trying to remain in the play-off slots, ran out 2-0 winners and collecting all 3 points.

You have to go back to 9th February 1970 for the last time Town registered a win at Bramall Lane over The Blades. Since that day we have played them 11 times at their ground, and only registered 2 draws in that period.

This season find The Blades struggling at the wrong end of the table. They have had a change of manager with Nigel Clough taking hold of the reigns in October. They have also managed only 3 league wins at home all season; the last one being just three days after Clough took charge.

Are we about to end 43 years without a win at Bramall Lane? Sheffield United’s current home form says maybe. Swindon’s away record this season says maybe not.
